Hi Chris, hi folks. Another possibility is to do this for each triangle: 1 - Select all of it with a double click. 2 - Create component. 3 - While in the component creation window, click on Set component axes. Set the origin to some endpoint, the red axis along one edge and the green axis to be on the triangular face. This makes the blue axis perpendicular to the face of the triangle. 4 - When done, use the Component Browser to apply any of your triangle to any face, like a large rectangle created on the ground. Once all that is done, explode the triangles components if required if you want their geometries to merge with the rectangle. Just ideas.

Hi, Anna: Looking at your plan image, tells me that you could approach this in at least two ways. Perhaps you should draw a large rectangle that extends beyond the perimeter of your plan, then select this and the plan graphics, right click, intersect. Your plan graphics lines must all be on the z=0 plane before importing into Sketchup. This of course will help reduce any face forming errors. For a simpler model, the internal features of your exterior walls could be erased. You decide. You could just start tracing along the lines of your plan, forming faces as you close the shapes. In any case, you cannot extrude the walls up until faces are formed within the perimeters of these walls. By the way, if you are familiar with the Sandbox Tools, you could select the dwg import graphics and Drape onto the large rectangle in 1. Do I still misunderstand? (I am good at that)

Sometimes the Sculpt Tool will perform an action where Artisan will not. Something to do with the mesh.

@unknownuser said: thanks for feedback. please provide more information so I will be able to debug it: what OS and browser version did you use steps to reproduce the error if there are any sensitive info please email me to books@ regarding one click checkout we are working with our payment processing (FetchApp) to create a solution. Thanks for getting back to me what OS and browser version did you use -- Windows 7, Firefox steps to reproduce the error -- not sure what you mean by this. I clicked on a publication, went to PayPal, paid for it (eventually), and when I click on "Get Your Downloads", I get the error msg. (I just bought another one, same results, except this time it took quite awhile to get the email so that I could download the thing) Actually, for me, the error msg is secondary to the problem of having to pay for each publication individually. Not an earth-shattering issue, but it will become more of a factor as the number of publications increases

Me neither. I have never had this issue I have to say. True that I have never even exported enormous section cuts. How big is it (I mean by metres / feet)? Is it not too far from the origin? Was there any CAD import originally?

Yeah, I also hope to get some lead time as I would need to move projects around or keep a week open. So c'mon Google give us some heads up this time.

@unknownuser said: Thanks Peter. Regards the iPad.... The default iOS PDF viewer is not able to display interactive elements. Try the Adobe PDF app (free) or GoodReader. But work great. I can't explain why the Gallery link on your PC aren't working? What PDF viewer are you using? Issuu doesn't like the highlight on hover feature of the Showcase page. But I can fix for next issue. Good feedback Once again the culprit is Apple. I use Preview for PDF, and for most things it is better than Acrobat. But there are some features it fails at. Thanks, I'll look into your suggestions. Thanks, Tim. I have the quad from various sources...One of the good ones surprisingly to me is the county (parish) forestry GIS portal. There's just a couple of things to be gotten from the quad, I think, mainly the contours but this is pretty flat land. The water features we know from the ground; but the corroboration is nice. The historical imagery from google earth is cool. I made crude little videos of the property over time, from 1998 to 2011.

David, attached is a PDF file containing the article The Drawing Board from the Urbanite magazine (June/2009, Issue No.60) in which you can see how people from Baltimore are inviting the community to give some ideas in a transit system project, by using Google Sketchup. So far, I donโ€™t know how the project is doing (I donโ€™t live there) but you can get some ideas. The article here

I had the same problem and I was placing solar panels on a large roof space. Best way to find duplicates is to edit the component and make the face or shape colour and then change the opacity to half. any duplicates will then be staked and show on the model as darker. then you can simply delete the dark components.

With 360 segments a circle has only 1 degree subtended for each segment, irrespective of the segments' length. With more segments the shorter the segment length for the same radius; but the sensible [self-imposed] upper limit should be something like 1.mm [or a lot less to be practical for large radii!]. The circumference of a circle is 2PIr, so to work backwards from a radius to 1.mm segments use numsegs=(2*Math::PI*radius/1.mm).to_i As the radius increases the number goes up proportionally... radius >>> numsegs 1.mm >>> 6 5.mm >>> 31 10.mm >>> 62 50.mm >>> 314 100.mm >>> 628 1000.mm >>> 6283 etc... Note that ~1591.mm is therefore the radius limit as ~9999 segments gives segments of ~1.mm long. So a circle about 3m/10' across is the limit for 1/mm segments... BUT of course thousands of circle segments translates to many more thousands of edges and facets when it's extruded into 3d... which is a sure fired way to kill your model! So don't be silly!!
