There also a handy plugin from Liquid98 called "Boolean Helper" that gives you a couple of new toolbar buttons for very quickly scaling up and down - there's a choice of scale factors, and it even automatically zooms to make sure you can see everything when the size changes. DOWNLOAD LINK

Yes it can be done in the free version, you need to install an animation plugin first, proper animation which is free but rotation animation using this will have to be done at the origin, then there is keyframe_animation which comes at a price but is very cheap considering what it can do

Hi, this is the closest dynamic component to the one I am trying to create, I need a window to first tilt inward by 10 degrees, and then close again, and then the next time you click, to then turn inward by 90 degrees... like this example, can this be done by clicking on the same part of the window? or does it involve creating parent and child elements and clicking on a different part of the model to get it to do one or the other... I don't really want to be able to turn and then whilst it's open, also be able to tilt ! so anyone know of an existing model out there? or help me to put one out there.. Cheers, Al

Thanks you, Thomthom, for the script and the group for answering the inquiry! The native solid tools do not always result in a 'solid' ramaining after the operation and I was having a heck of time figuring out why. Thomthom's script revealed the solid subtract tool was leaving behind a bunch of hidden geometry that should not have been left! (using SketchUp Pro

Helps to start of with the actual topic. Regardless, there's a loooong thread here on the topic: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=44881 @fuzzion said: What will happen to Vray for sketchup. Devin said that they see no reason for much to change. They will keep working on VfSU. @fuzzion said: Are there plans to continue the plugin scheme. Appears so. Their announcement said they want to continue with SketchUp as a platform. So I think/hope it might in fact make it better. @fuzzion said: 3)Does Trimble plan to improve on Sketchup or use newly acquired IP rights to start a new software? Don't think they'll start a completely new software. (Depends on what you mean by n"new" (complete rewrite?)) If they'll change the SketchUp package? Who knows... The SketchUp team has said that SketchUp will be SketchUp. Have a look at the thread I linked to. Any information out there on the topic will be referred to there. Thanks for the input

@jean lemire said: Hi folks. The choices to make a group or a component with a single entity are not available in the context menu. However, they are alwaysavailable in the Edit Menu. Just ideas. Therefore, select something and the use Window > Preferences > Shortcuts to make a shortcut key-combo to that very 'edit' command... and then you won't need a context-menu at all So if G were 'Make Component' then Shift+G could be 'Make Group'... etc etc...

The more specific the question and the more informative the subject line (RE: hello!), the happier the outcome, all things being equal, maybe.
