Okay well I've just checked firewall settings and they are fine, no security issues whatsoever, however I still end up with a blank window for the 3Dwarehouse, which oddly... Matt, What is your experience, training, education? With CAD software just about anyone can create floor plans. But do you actually know what you are drawing? You'll learn. You are sort of jumping in with both feet. There are tutorials and so on, you know. But these are really simple models. It'll begin to make sense after a while. Look for the translucent materials by opening the Materials window and choosing Texture Palettes. pull down the menu and choose "Translucent".

You see to want all integers so turning them from integers to strings and back again looks logical... Then you can use +1 to increment the integers... BUT if you wanted 'combined references' you can use say: data = "A01" Then later increment the string thus: data.next! which gives "A02" The Ruby method .next increments strings, so x="A"; x.next!; x; "B" etc... .next returns the string incremented but leaves the original reference unchanged, adding the ! as in .next! also increments the reference itself.

Well, Sketchup seems to think that you have two different IP addresses. Do you have peer blocker or something similar running? perhaps some firewall?

So it sounds like you do not store your Components on disc, but just keep them in-model? I'd be afraid a crash could cause the model and all components to be lost.
