Juju, My layout is somewhat like Eric has. The main texture folder has 374 folders & sub folders which contains 36,442 files and my component folder has 1,084 folders & sub folders which contains 38,005 files. I know a bit extreme but this is a collection of about 11 years. The funny thing about this is that I know where everything is. [image: components.jpg] [image: textures.jpg]

Todamgood4U, You look far to young to be driving cars let alone building them Will you attempt the build in SU or have you another program in mind? And what car have you in mind Mike

Juju: I have now added it to my profile. Guite: I can see where you are coming from - I'll either create an account for you or make the text below stand out a bit more. Hopefully I'll get round to restyling the website over the next few weeks and I'll add that to the list of changes. poster-chrisf

Ok, explode the terrain group and intersect with the hidden 'road' block to get the intersection lines actually on the terrain, then select the eraser and Ctrl click on the lines you want to soften. You'll be left with the road as one surface to texture.

@daniel said: Your welcome. Glad I could b helpful. Maybe that should be a request for the next version - a "change insertion point" option. I think so. As you way be can tell I have an extensive Acad background and I think that having the ability to set the insertion point at time of block/component creation would be a great asset. Thanks again for the assistance

There are so many little tricks that one isn't aware of - or even if is, just do not use as a routine. I still keep browsing the "User's Guide" now and then so I'd warmly recommend you to do so. Here's the Windo2s version: http://download.sketchup.com/sketchuphelp/gsu6_win/gsuwin.html And here is the Mac version: http://download.sketchup.com/sketchuphelp/gsu6_mac/gsumac.html At the end of each section you can find all these little tips and tricks Time after time I still find nice solutions that I may have read about but not practising them, I just forget.

Yep. Sometimes the most obvious direction to an answer is the last place we look. Hadn't dawned on me that the parts, pieces, textures and stuff must go with the file if it is transported, whether it be to the 3d warehouse, or simply attached to an email and sent to yourself so you can work on it on a different computer at a different place with another instance of SU running.

Happy to help. If you don't want those units to show in future models, remember to open a fresh SketchUp session and make that setting. Then use File>Save as template to make a new default template.
