Are you lighting this with an HDRI Sky? If so then your HDRI is probably higher than your model, so either drop the HDRI or raise your model.

Maybe a late answer but have you look at the RAM usage? Displacement eat a lot of memory and since I started testing displacement my ram usage use to go up to 95% and CPU to 20% and then I have 16 gb ram. That is a model of 40 MB, with a mush bigger model and some displacement it is sertanly ram usage that slows down the process.

Where did you get 'Axes Manager' from ? Do you mean something else ? There is a 'UCS Manager' RBZ [DBUR_UcsManager.rbz] available from the SketchUcation Pluginstore http://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=DBUR_UcsManager_v1_0_0 When properly install it has a subfolder named 'DBUR_UcsManager' in which is a Resources subfolder, which contains the PDF [UCS Manager.pdf]. The EWH includes a newer one by Didier named 'Axes Manager' ? With similar files/subfolders 'DBUR_AxesManager.rbz' etc. There is a Resources subfolder containing 'Axes Manager 2016.pdf' ? So How did you install it ? Using Windows > Preferences > Extensions > Install Extension... button ? I have just installed both from their RBZ and they both include the PDF in the ../Plugins/DBUR_XxxxManager/Resources subfolder...

draw2D with GL line in the workspace canvas would be much slicker. Similar to the way SketchUV overalys a grid with the tab key. You could tab through various composition guide styles. You could even add safe areas etc to really frame your shots.

Looks like chrome is opening a link to a local URL on your PC. Try asking on the Google Chrome help forums.

Ultimately it comes down to personal preference. Typically if you have a lighting fixture, you would try to use an IES light to produce the most accurate lighting pattern for that fixture. Rectangle lights are good for when large swaths of light are required in one single direction, lots of people use them to simulate the exterior light coming in through a window, or for product renders as studio "softbox" lighting. Sphere and Omni lights will produce, as the name suggests, a surrounding light, similar to a bare bulb. My best suggestion would be to make a simple scene and just play with each type of light to see how it behaves. Robert

I believe it is due to the fact that the trial of Vray only allows 2 lighting elements in a scene.

hmmmm... .ok, I found a leftover proxy that had one of the cars in it as part. I thought I'd deleted all the cars in a test to see if I could get rid of all the ghost cars. no luck till I found this proxy and deleted it. Now they're gone. I guess I should learn more about proxies. I think I'm ok now, though now quite understanding why. I will read up. thx. Greg

My suggestion is to not use displacement on brick. You really want to reserve displacement for things that are close to camera have a lot of 3D relief and detail (stonework, etc.) Bricks can be rendered much faster with a bump or normal map. Try plugging your diffuse map into this website and create a normal map, put that in your bump slot. http://cpetry.github.io/NormalMap-Online/

Yes. Instances inheriting animation would be awesome. Can it be toggled on/off?

@rv1974 said: If job must be done solve it brute way: I'take what you've RoundCorner created and manually purge and stitch problematic areas and then soften back. In your specific case it'd take ~15 min. There's an alternative to bend the orthogonal 'wall' containing filleted hole (see Flowify or CLF Shape Bender) but it could be less accurate. P.S. I'd recommend to contact Fredo6 and show him your case may be he'll refine his filleting algorithm in the future. Thanks for taking the time to look at this. Brute Way is the path I know. Wanted to see if there's a newer manner with a bit more finesse. Don't want to bother Fredo with this. He's doing a SUPERB job. This challenge gets down into a Level Of Detail that, in my opinion, goes beyond the Scope on his Magnificent Scripts. Again; Thanks Nino
