@Rich-O-Brien Thanks Rich. Now I know that I can share the link with Fredo6 on the Animator thread so he can download the file and look at it (to hopefully identify the problem I have been having trying to generate a video). You might also try generating an Animator video and see what results you get.

Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

Thanks Gaieus. I never noticed the 'options' on the import dialogue box. I was assuming it would import using the default template settings. I can send the drawings off now with with no worries. Thanks again.

It's not been consistent. I'll keep observing it and report back.

@ccs said: I have done some research and cannot find any rubys to satisfy my current need. You're right, I don't think there are any. What I was thinking is that it's possible to write a plugin that would clean-up the skb's and either delete them or move them to a backup folder when you quit SketchUp.

And what's more: had I tried it directly in SU I wouldn't have had that problem because the SIN function then sakes degrees and not Radians... doh!

That can also be avoided in the modeling stage, if you know before hand it will be rendered and you want a smoother curve, by setting the curve segments to a higher number.

I later saw Rick's post but well... @kevin_walker said: This won't be a deal breaker for most, however any Chief Architectect users will find v7 files will no longer open in C.A. X-1. Version 6 files will. A work around is to export as 3ds from v7 and import back into Chief with the 3ds file. (I realize this is not a Sketchup problem) Just a note to any Chief Architect X-1 users. I am hopeful for v7 and so far I like some of the new changes. Kevin Kevin, you can always save your SU 7 model in SU 6 format (just scroll down the pulldown on saving). This can always be a workaround with every 3rd party app until they update their importers.

@remus said: Wouldnt want any fence sitting now Stinkie, i think they are working on some big stuff. Bit of a guess really, but i dont think theyre stupid enough to sit around and not do anything about the speed issues. I don't think they're stupid either. I do think, however, that the 'speed issues' are not their prime concern. You remember the concerns Kwisten vented some time ago? You know, about SU becoming a tool (or toy?) for people who want to populate GE? He was right. In effect, Google is smart. But it's not the kind of smart your typical modeling app user will benefit from in the long run.

Yeah, the help is replaced with the helpcenter. Which is a way of taking all the help offered and turn it into an amazing labrynth of articles that dont relate well to eachother...... Chris I'd like a great big PDF with all that info.

See this thread but with no real conclusions. http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=12349&p=89084&hilit=kenny#p89084 I also get frustrated with it. It's usually on large models printed at A1 or larger. Daniel is right however, Layout will print out ok without the texture issues. If you do still use Sketchup directly I've found that Adobe Acrobat is the worst culprit. I also use Cute PDF and PDF Creator. They work more often than not. Also in Advanced Preferences print settings try ICM Method: handled by printer, ICM Intent: Graphics, Advanced printing Features: Disabled. I don't really know what these are meant to do but through trial and error have found they work more often. Kenny

Was it a surprise? not really, however i was using a ruby i do not use regularly and with subdivide it worked better than I imagined. This one I intended to make a stone/rock ancient road, I used the protrude for basic shape, then used subdivide 2 iriterations, then FFD to create curve and turn in road, then made component and duplicated it four times to create a road. [image: bumpyroadyt9.png] serving suggestion: [image: roadromexd4.png] This scene in Vue is just over 30 million polygons as every blade of grass is a mesh.
