Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

For simply rotating the image so that some horizontal is made parallel to the 'X' axis, Photoshop users can draw a on that supposed-to-be-horizontal with the ruler tool and hit 'straighten.'

Good point. I have a keyboard shortcut for your PurgeAll and use it frequently. I should have mentioned it but I wrote that at 4:25 am before my coffee was even brewed.

Doing as he suggested restored only about 10% of my thumbnails. For whatever reason the only ones it did restore were for models that I had not yet opened with SU. So I uninstalled/reinstalled SU. No change. Thoroughly uninstalled with Revo Uninstaller, reinstalled. Nada. Finally, in desperation, I tried the Mystic Thumbnails mentioned in the post you referred me to. I now have thumbnails And I can even make them a bit larger, although they tend to get a little fuzzy when you do that. While I like Mystic Thumbnails and would probably use it anyway, it's still just a workaround for a problem that is still on my computer, and I don't like workarounds. Oh well, it's about time for me to replace my C drive again, I do that once or twice a year to get a fresh start. A hassle, but it's worth it. Has anyone posted a warning anywhere in the forums about the troubles they might encounter if they attempt to install a second version of SU on the same computer? At least they would be aware of the potential difficulties and could make an informed decision. I only installed SU 7 because I wanted to get around problems with the Zorro plugin. It's a really useful tool, at least to me, but definitely not worth all the trouble I've gone through. I'll just install SU 7 on another computer and use Zorro there, along with any other plugins I may need that seem to have a problem with SU 8. Maybe Google will get of it's butt and fix the problems with SU 8 someday. It's only fair, considering how much I paid for it By the way, what about the second part of my original question, any insights there? Just one more quick question, is there a way to set things up so that I'm not notified when I post a reply to my own topic, just when someone else posts a reply? Thanks, bye

I see that flicker all the time on my little machine at work. It's barely qualified to be considered a computer though. At home I just see the menu line go white. I didn't notice it on this file but then I didn't have the rest of the car either.

Hi, I have searched for a way to cut exactly the terrain parts. I made in each group, at the exact same position, a rectangular area and have intersected with the terrain inside. Then I removed the overlap and put together the two groups again. This seems to be the easiest way. There remain though still small irregularities, which are seen but rarely. Another way would be to select the lines after turning on hidden geometry, and then right click > Entity Info > deselect 'soft'. The line or lines will then remain visible after turning off hidden geometry.

Hi Csaba, I must confess that not all of the individual models are my own, Most of them I have downloaded from the Google Warehouse. The idea with the scenes came to me later. If I build a model, I consider it very much how it should be structured. But thank you again for your trouble. It is always a valuable experience. Charly

Thank you for fast reply. I am trying to merge two terrain patches from GE. [image: capturemis.jpg] Uploaded with ImageShack.us I am not sure about the inner workings of the script, maybe its not designed for the task I need to accomplish? Maybe there's other method for doing this? When I execute it it seems to be working but the pop up window never shows up...and than it quits without confirmation....it does work on a single terrain patch thou I need to make a large terrain from a number of patches with clean topology and preferably the UVs and textures to be used in an art project that is a simulation of a part of a city....Plllllease help shed some light cheers

On my PC, if I last had version 7.1 open and try to open a V8 file, I get that message. If I last had V8 open, I don't get it. It's worked this way since I installed version 4 alongside version 3.

@honoluludesktop said: Can't the request be accomplished by selecting all the entities in the model, then placing the "Axis" where ever you want it? @dave r said: Are you suggesting moving the entire model so that 0,0,0 is at the desired datum? bob did acknowledge that as an option but suppose you have a number of parts for which you want to create the X,Y table. The datum point for each part will be in a different place so you would have to move the model for each one. In my case, moving would not be an option as I would be some 800 kms away from the origin and you know clipping. TIG: thanks a bunch; I am going to look at the plugin right now.

@thomthom said: A Line-Offset tool would be nice... Yes it would! An offset multiple lines at the same time would be even better. Add an option to also offset and create the connecting lines and form a face and you have a stellar plugin.
