BlenderGIS can get you pretty good images.. you do need an API key to get set up but it's all free and you can even generate 3d geometry based on the elevations in the satellite images.. it tiles in blender so you the more you zoom the better the image quality to a point.

@box said: Segments. There is always a limit to the number of segments Sketchup can deal with. There is also an unfortunate lack of good error messages built into sketchup. 10000 segments of a single continuous 'curve' will tend to crash sketchup without a bugsplat. Your question appears to show that 6000 segments is the limit on a follow me before it gives you an error that is somewhat meaningless. Thanks for going to all the trouble, some very useful information for myself and probably others. Very much appreciated And you're right about the 'somewhat meaningless' error messages. It might as well have said 'This ain't gonna work, but we're not gonna tell you why'

What version of SketchUp are you actually using? Your profile says you are using 2020 Free/Make but there is no such version. Providing the correct information helps us help you.

Yes, Blender has gotten rid of "remove doubles" and now relies solely on "merge by distance" now. Never did fix the collada export issues, but doesn't matter as I'm only using Enscape and not rendering in Blender lately.

Just translating message... Hello With the "Sandbox" tool I used the "from scratch" tool and then "shaped" my terrain. @unknownuser said: Hello With the "Sandbox" tool I used the "from scratch" tool and then "shaped" my terrain. I would now like to project a path on this land to fill the area of the path with another texture. When I used "From scratch" my land is in the form of a grid, and the stops therefore create multiple faces. So it is very complex to fill each face. If I had used the tool "From the contours" I would have only had the stops of the projected drawing and therefore the faces would have been curved but unified. I wish I could get the same result "from scratch". is that possible? Thank you for your answers.

Have tried https://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=CopyAlongCurve ? You need a median curve to act as a central path for the object

Does this happen with one particular model or even with a new one from a template?

It was only a guess……but many times that seems to solve silly/perplexing problems.

No, its more of a monitoring tool. What you need is a GIT type environment that pushes commits to the master from branches. Version control within SketchUp's ecosystem is something I hope they implement to meet the needs of small teams that live/work in the ecosystem. https://speckle.systems/ This is the type of system I'm talking about where interoperability between file formats and teams is seamless. Maybe a command line tool could be developed to monitor file changes and push them around as needed. The other thing would be a macro via Auto Hotkey that did what you do manually when you execute it. All rather flaky solutions tbh...

It's called clipping. It often happens when the camera is set to Parallel Projection and the camera is incorrectly placed. It can also happen when there is geometry at a vast distance from the rest of the model or the model is a long way from the origin. If you save the file with clipping visible, we should be able to see it if you'd share the file. That would be a good way to get an exact answer and fix.

@ntxdave said: ...or is it like the previous Classic license and I just quit getting updates and can continue using it? Also, does the Pro Annual plan include the iPad version? that would be nice, shell out some peanuts and use it forever... scnr yep, the SketchUp Go version for iPad is included.

Thanks everyone. I especially like the protractor tool idea. Still don't know why inference sometimes doesn't work (on an actual circle), alas.
