Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

In your image you show the grain direction running horizontally on the sides. Is that what you want? The more common method would be to have the grain running vertically. Not only does that tend to be more aesthetically pleasing but it's importand with solid wood. The way the grain is displayed on your model you would have gross grain joints between parts which will create issues with joinery. (If you ware using veneered termite excrement, that wouldn't be a big deal since there is no grain.

@pinoy said: Hi, I've been a long time Mac user. I'm still using 2nd gen iMac specially for sketchup modelling full time. No problem in modelling. For rendering I'm use Thea, V-ray Next all work 100 percent. Time has been moving fast ,with the new real time rendering applications around. My iMac can't handle those high computing applications. You should thing about this and if you are going into realtime in the future i.e new v-ray realtime, Twinmotion to Unreal Engine or D5 etc. For me I bought a Window laptop GPU of course just for Realtime rendering proposes. and do my 3d modelling-small scene rendering projects in iMac 27" . Anyway I hope that helps in your decision.Cheers What pinoy said

Every now and then the sign in happens to me but never have I experienced toolbar chaos. Any time extensions are involved you can't guarantee consistent behaviour though.

for my roaming content (plugins) i make sure i copy them over to the newest directory, and for my components, materials etc i copy them over to the newest program data folders. update my preferences -> files open SU verify the plugins etc are all working, then i mark the second oldest top level folder as "SketchUp 2020.X" in case i missed something, and remove the older ones. Joint push pull is a tool in SketchUp that allows you to extrude or cut away a section of a 3D model by pushing or pulling it along a path. There could be several reasons why joint push pull might not be working properly. Here are a few possible explanations: The path is not properly defined: In order to use joint push pull, you need to first define a path for the tool to follow. This can be a line, a curve, or a face. Make sure that the path you have selected is properly defined and closed, and that it is not self-intersecting. The selection is not properly defined: Joint push pull only works on a single, contiguous selection of faces. Make sure that you have only selected the faces that you want to extrude or cut away, and that there are no gaps or holes in your selection. The model is not properly oriented: Joint push pull works best when the model is oriented in a way that allows the tool to push or pull along a straight line. If the model is oriented at an angle, it may be difficult to get the tool to work properly. Try rotating the model or adjusting the path to make it more straightforward. There are intersecting faces: If there are faces that intersect with each other in your model, joint push pull may not work properly. Try using the "Erase" tool to remove any intersecting faces before using joint push pull. There is a problem with the software: If none of these suggestions help, it is possible that there is a problem with the software itself. In this case, try restarting SketchUp or reinstalling the software to see if that fixes the issue.
  • Tool to automatically create ifcSpaces ?

There are several tools available that can automatically create IFC spaces within a building model. These tools can be used to quickly and accurately define the spaces within a building, which can be useful for various purposes such as energy analysis, building management, and facility planning. One example of a tool that can create IFC spaces is Solibri Model Checker (SMC). SMC is a Building Information Modeling (BIM) quality assurance and control software that can identify and classify spaces within a building model based on their size, shape, and location. It can also automatically create space boundaries based on the geometry of the building model, and assign space names based on predefined rules. Another example is the Revit software, which is a BIM software developed by Autodesk. Revit includes a feature called "Space Separation Lines" that allows users to define the boundaries of spaces within a building model. Users can draw space separation lines in the 3D model view, or create them automatically using the "Automatic Separation Lines" tool. This tool can create space separation lines based on the geometry of the building model and the type of space (e.g., office, conference room, etc.). There are also other tools available that can create IFC spaces, such as ArchiCAD and Allplan. These tools may have different features and capabilities, so it is important to evaluate the needs of the project and choose the tool that is most suitable.

Do you have the most recent version of the extension? Do you also have the current version of the required Sketchucation Tool installed? [image: fVqJ_Screenshot-12_10_202212_16_28PM.png] Please correct your profile. It indicates you are using SketchUp 2022 Free/Make but there is no such version.

[image: c7FD_SUfromVWimportsDefaultStyle1600px.jpg][image: kGoK_SUfromVWimportsHiddenLineStyle1600px.jpg]I have tried nearly every option for importing a VW model into SketchUp, and recently found software that does a good job. 'Transmutr' is a standalone application (not a plugin for SU.) See below for a comparison of various VW export/SU import approaches. Many of them fail to include the line work, so I've shown the results in both SU 'Default Style' and 'Hidden Line' to illustrate. I feel like Transmutr is the way to go, at least at present.
