    BlenderGIS can get you pretty good images.. you do need an API key to get set up but it's all free and you can even generate 3d geometry based on the elevations in the satellite images.. it tiles in blender so you the more you zoom the better the image quality to a point.

    The clipping in sketchup is one of the most frustratingly long-standing issues around. Try switching your camera to perspective, that usually works as a quick fix.

    When you do an array of cutting components you need to watch out for copying multiples to different faces. A couple of instances of the same component tend not to cut when placed on different faces, whereas an array of one instance will pretty much cut anything it hits. Here you see an array of 7 cuts even when it only hits the corner of the building, but array more than one to different faces and it fails to cut. There is a specific rule about what works and what doesn't but I can't put my finger on it right now. [image: Cut Array.gif]

    pbacot, I use Podium for rendering. I will have to jump over there and see if I can find a way to do what you are suggesting. I should have thought to look at my render program for a process. Thanks

    In vanilla sketchup: -You can create a face in the correct orientation, texture that, set the texture to "projected", and use the texture from that to paint your model with plugins: -Pixero's UV Projection plugin might help you out here, it will speed up the approach I described for vanilla -Marginal's UV editor could also work nicely, albeit with a little more effort -I haven't used ThomThom's UV toolkit, but I believe it could present a solution of some description

    Guess what: that's not the entire ship. As said, that file is just the part isolated. The file size is because of those textures [EDIT] Yeah, it's the texture's fault. I resized it to 25% of it's original size and now it shows up just fine. I didn't know there was a max texture size that Kerkythea could handle

    Yes this has been around since the @last days. I only come across it when I've inserted a siteplan or similar from AutoCad. It used to be reported as a bug a lot, but I guess it's been grandfathered in as something that can't be fixed? Or maybe it just keeps being put on the "next time" list.
