Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

SketchUp is not geared towards that level of intricacy. Not impossible just labour intensive, especially for furniture. I still think texturing is the way to go. If it's for presentation then its more visual than accurate.

Please don't SHOUT at us ! Typing everything in capital letters is considered to be bad-manners... Now to answer your question... Layers [Tags] can have colors set manually from your model's materials - including transparency and textures... But only their colors are accessible [get/set] through the Ruby API - i.e. not transparency or textures. SketchUp can have materials which include simple colors and textures - with or without transparency. So if you want to 'extract' your layer/tag colors with Ruby it is possible, then you can use the color' RGB data to make a new material in your model [perhaps named after the layer/tag name ?]. However, although it's possible, it's not simple ! There have previously been several threads discussing this... try searching the forums' posts... There are working code examples...

@dbur33 said: msg_validation_error Request to Sketchucation = ERROR_F09 Error F09 indicates a plugin name mismatch. Is it possible you are trying to license Round Corner using a license for FredoCorner? Or the other way around? What version of SketchUp are you using? Please complete your forum profile.

Hi Dave, It wouldn't surprise me, as I mentioned, this model has been a WIP for the past 3-4 years. I think back then I broke my own rule of keeping it simple, I might investigate further this weekend. Unfortunately, I have too much time invested in this model to start all over, as much as I would like to. Thanks for help Dave, very much appreciated. Stan

It's best to just model it. I would never use displacement in this manner. There are plug-ins that could help with the modeling pretty quickly I bet.

I would guess the odd behaviour is targeting only you I'm afraid. In Windows you can change the Open dialog dropdown behaviour via the Local Group Policy or the Regedit. But its so deeply buried that there's no way you managed to do so without knowing. Bizarre.

The most efficient way is have your materials stored somewhere other than the default library location. This saves you pain if/when you upgrade to major releases. On Mac go to SketchUp > Preferences from the menu bar and set the path to where you will stored you materials. Place your materials, typically folder separated based on category/type, into that location. https://help.sketchup.com/en/sketchup/setting-software-and-file-preferences https://help.sketchup.com/en/sketchup/adding-colors-and-textures-materials#manage-material

I tried many maps, was not convincing though. I used this one from "filter forge" worked well. It was designed for mirrors. [image: ZSYy_Mirror.jpg]

one good thing to do: pick a single point as the base reference to all the other pillars. then provide measures relative to that point. a grid is good when you have symmetry as you can easily add the footing on-center measures on the outside of the grid lines. it will keep things neat and the contractor can easily know where place their base stake and then place the others from that point.
