Thank you! I've started a folder to house all of the potentially useful (to me) components I create for each project so I have them available for future use. I know I could have been doing this by hand all along, but now I have no excuse because you've made it so easy. Thank you again

@rickw said: Edson, Yes, FlightPath and FlightPath2 require a path to follow. That path must be a curve - either an arc, circle, polygon, or "welded" curve (a set of edges that have been joined together into a polyline using the weld plugin). That path should be at the desired eye level. I usually create the path at ground level, then move it up 5' (~ 1.5m) to a person's eye height. Sometimes I draw a circle and move it very high above a building to do a flyaround from the air. Once you have created the path and have it at the desired eye height, select it and right-click to get the FlightPath menu. You will have four options for the target view: Camera path nodes - the camera will look towards the next vertex/node in the selected path. This is the same behavior as FlightPath (free). Single Point - as the camera moves along the path, it will look at a single point that you select. Two Points - as the camera moves along the path, it will look along a line starting at one selected point and transitioning to a second selected point. Target Path - as the camera moves along the path, it will look at a point that is moving along a second selected path. That path must be created in the same way as the camera path. Rick- Just DL'd fp2. Question regarding the final option "target path". I'm a bit unclear about the sentence "That path must be created in the same way as the camera path". Can you expand on this? What if I want to follow a path thru a building...I want to mainly look straight ahead, but as I pass by interesting nodes/rooms, I wish to change the viewpoint to somewhere along the side of the path. Then resume looking straight ahead. Typical walk-thru. What does that secondary path look like? Doe the "straight ahead" segments lay directly on top of the primary path? Thanks

@kaas said: hi TIG, Recently I did a project with lots of (high-polycount) trees and several camera positions. I really was missing some kind of LOD system. For instance, in one view some trees were very near and I wanted to use the high res version, in another view they were more in the distance and a low poly version would have speeded up the export of the views. So I looked for an LOD system for sketchup and Google turned up your 'old' plugin. I tried it in Sketchup 8 (the clients preferred version) but I can't get it to work. See attached file (all the components should be saved inside). What am I doing wrong?? Regards, Max You example SKP only contained instances that were called 'doos'. If they had been named 'doos+' or 'doos-' or 'doos~' the Proximity WILL work. So Select all of the 'doos' and use the context-menu option in the Components-Browser to replace all selected with 'doos-' ... Run the tool and, depending on your settings and the instances distance from the camera, you'll get 'doos+' or 'doos-' or 'doos~' for each appropriate instance...

There is a button at the bottom of the dialog. You click on that to confirm your choice of destination folder*** *** If you have the dialog 'minimized' drag its bottom edge downwards a little so that you can see the button... [image: mE2Q_Capture.PNG] Incidentally any idea why you have more than one destination offered, if you haven't specified one using a tool like Fredo's AdditionPluginsFolder tool ? What is the choice ? Always choose your own User Plugins folder UNLESS you have a good reason to choose otherwise ! Some 3rd party Plugins with their own installers** can put things into the 'shared' location without asking clearly, that then gets listed as an option **Like 'octane_render'...

Maggie, if you can see the toolbar icons for the plugin in Sketchup but they don't work, chances are good you didn't install the plugin correctly.Close SketchUp and reopen it. Do you get any error messages? As Jim said, the best thing to do is contact the author directly. If you get any error messages, send those to him.

@tig said: Look at http://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=SectionCutFace Not really what I was looking for; however your flatten plane is; I will experiment I mean: http://sketchucation.com/forums/download/file.php?id=57217%26amp;t=1 Its exactly what I was looking for. Ill try running it. Edit: Well it seems nearly perfect; I'll take it as it is; its faster to erase unneeded ages then to draw your building again by hand. [image: eDEi_Experiment.png] Its seems to also flatten smoothed/soft edges. So when you smoothed/softened a lot of faces; you sure get a lot of line deleting. It also traces geometry that is hidden behind a face closer to the plane; however I can live with this, its not a big issue (it only takes a few secs. to delete).

  • Scale definition to all components in Model? How?

Well, I have my Scale Group Definition plugin - which has the code for scaling definitions. All that code needs is a loop to traverse the model. I'm quite busy this week, and then disappearing on vacation for two weeks. If anyone want anything before that they can just pull out the code and wrap it up. https://bitbucket.org/thomthom/scale-group-definition/src/30c19da82371f5dcaf95ef6e66098368da265a6a/src/tt_scale_group_definition/core.rb?at=master#cl-64

I downloaded and installed today. Running SU2014, Windows 7. END key did not move down (or any direction). SHIFT key did not appear to move faster.
