    tamic I use it with SketchUp 7.0 It saves new textures either in the folder your model is saved or in a temporary folder and then replaces materials in the model so you should see it right away I just started a similar project but using Blender https://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=180%26amp;t=67569

    . ops, sorry few copy errors : try this code @m=Sketchup.active_model;@s=@m.selection;@d=@m.definitions;@s[0].definition.behavior.no_scale_mask = 4 ; Sketchup.send_action('selectScaleTool;') you can find this in the sketchup API: http://ruby.sketchup.com/Sketchup/Behavior.html#no_scale_mask=-instance_method i don't find it very clear, but more or less: you have 7 numbers (bits). each representing a pair of handles. when the bit is 0, the particular handle pair is visible. when the bit is 1 the handle pair is hidden. @unknownuser said: Bit0: disable scale along red (X), Bit1: disable scale along green (Y), Bit2: disable scale along blue (Z), Bit3: disable scale in red/blue plane (X+Z), Bit4: disable scale in green/blue plane (Y+Z), Bit5: disable scale in red/green plane (X+Y), Bit6: disable scale uniform (from corners) (XYZ). take 1111000 as an example. the bits from left to right are bit6, bit5, bit4, bit3, bit2, bit1, bit0. in this example, bits 6, 5, 4,and 3 are all hidden. the only visible ones are the blue, green and red: bits 2, 1 and 0. this 'combination' is given in the form of an integer. if you take the example above, the 1111000 number is the 'binary' conversion of 120. here's a place where you can do a conversion: http://acc6.its.brooklyn.cuny.edu/%7Egurwitz/core5/nav2tool.html so, you can decide your combination of ones and zeroes (your seven bits) use the converter to get the corresponding integer use the ruby code above to test the integer. hope it makes sense unfortunately you cannot activate it permanently - you can use the script from this thread (and change the handle numbers you prefer). and yes, there is a lot of 'strange' about sketchup - but we do love it anyway! .

    It would be nice if the tool supports showing just one unit, that is different than the current units and also if it could support custom units (e.g. cm/2) with custom annotations (so if something measures 10cm, I can make the dimensions show "5cm" using the tool). This is good to allow scaling while retaining dimensions of the pre-scaled geometry

My workflow for create separate Components from a general drawing (above previous post from Protrude by Jim) Multiple Offset by Remus Select Only Simple Face by TIG ? Copy move Loose to Group by Chris Fulmer Groups to Components by ThomThom new code Inflate By Sdmitch (works fine for quads forms) Not yet for these forms above!     Tried as well, modified mcexport.rb filepaths which caused a bug report error force close, tried modify loadpath rb file versions and pre ver information, still same error as original, installed ruby 1.8.6, up to latest version through all of this and none worked. Found zlib.so in all but no prevail. The simplest method of modifying mcexport load path was as close as it got to saying "hey something is there", but crash..... Back to tinkercad. Good try though, appreciate the efforts.

    I love Vertex tools, but I miss one function very much: The ability to "move normal". I'd like to be able to select a group of vertices (for example a loop) and move every single vertex in its own normal direction (and the same distance). One possible use could be to create a 'ridge'or 'groove' in an organic shaped mesh.

    Dave, sorry I could not get back sooner, I had to step out for several days. Anyway, to answer your question I have used precision of 9, 5, 1,0.1, 0.5, 0.9. makes no difference. But since I asked the question last year, I have changed the units from lbs/cf to g/cm3 and looks like that will help. again, sorry I did not thank you earlier.
