Thanks everyone. I don't know what the problem was, but I restarted Sketchup and it worked fine after that. So thanks again for all the kind help. @Thomthom; No problem, I know I was asking for alot. And without trying to come off as too rude, would you mind sharing your vray settings for the floorplan? Mine turns out either too bright or too dark, but that might be the problem of the floor plan itself. It's rather large (office building) and I'm not working with any extra light besides the Vray sun and GI. Would you recommend adding extra (a.i.) lighting? EDIT: Just watched the video, I guess that answered all my questions, thanks!

Yeah, the reflection layer will do that (reflect the environment)

Hey Kalu, Glad to help! We all learn something. Stefan, I hadn't even seen the rectangular lights at the windows. No wonder the render times were so high, that's a lot of competing lights. I used the global "lights" option to turn off all the light sources. My thought is that if you can't see the difference of the light in the scene with the GI on, you probably shouldn't have it in the scene. Andy

I'm afraid that Time is something that I'm in desperate shortage of. I guess regulars around here has noticed that I've been less active in the V-Ray section, which is due to the time it takes to make a good reply. I've barely been able to keep in track with my plugins even lately... While I appreciate the praise, "guru" I am not. I just know enough to get me by with what I need. Nomeranda ...or however it's spelled... has been doing some nice tutorials, and he really knows his stuff. Keep an eye on his blog. (will see if I can dig up the link )

You just change the sun in Sketchup, the vray sun takes into account the color of the sky at different parts of the day. You may need to adjust your camera exposure for morning or evening light or your render may come out too dark. Best, Andy

Correct. We have to direct the license server to the folder where the licenses are, this bat file does exactly that.

Check the Applications/ASGvis folder, you should see an alias to run the DR Spawner. You MUST use this alias to run the DR Spawner or it will NOT work. Once it's running, you should be able to follow the instructions to use the DR Spawner during a render. It's the same on Mac as it is on PC. Also, when going to render a given scene for the first time, always check what machines are set to be used in the DR Spawner settings, and click the OK button when you are done reviewing them, just to be sure that the information you looked at gets used. We found a bug while working on V-Ray for Rhino, where the machines would not be used unless you looked at the servers that are set, and you click OK.

i had two windows opened at the same time - the one with 'repository' and the new project.
