Ta folks, it is the ai thing.

My design, mea culpa. Similar in concept to the hotrod I did some yonks ago but oriented towards track days.

Working on a studio setup for Rayscaper so hopefully some renders then.

Now it's better. Even nicer. )I didn't know we have such good materials in SU - they always come out so flat to me...) 😞

Porn and booze as a defense against aliens. Wow! That's probably at least as effective as yodeling, which is said to work against Martians!

I used to belong to a group called S-P-O-N-G-E (Stop Powerful Organisms from EnGulfing Everything!), and some of the senior members always swore by wasabi. Until they got eaten, that is, wasabi packets and all.

    (Great images, Durant!)

    Eric,
the trick is to know that not every project is a candidate for a sketchy style.
The moment I feel the slightest doubt, I quit styling.
This one felt right for the job, from the very beginning.

Also that arch-like structure may not be smotthed - but more segments would surely be better.

    Nice scenes anyway!

I don't know why, but never even thought to look for it on FormFonts. But still had fun modeling it.

Edson, here's a crazy connection for you. My good friend who will be managing this coffee shop is dating a girl from Sao Paulo who will be spending a year at a university in Porto Alegre. I haven't yet found out which university, but she will be in your city and maybe even in your neighborhood.

yes, nick, it is crazy. it would be even crazier if she came to study where i teach and became my student!

tell her to look me up if she needs some pointers (phone numbers at my site).

cheers and good luck with this job.

I wanted add how I loved that B/W... it fools my eyes every time on the size... my eye starts at the upper right and flows downward to the left... and then I recognize the people and my eye scales the image... its great... that must mean that you pulled off the visual presentation completely...

Dave that looks pretty cool in hidden line form, it really shows some modelling skills to produce so quickly and to such small model size.
    Very nice work.

Any chance, if you get time of a small tut showing your methods in creating one or two components?

Thank you Dylan. Let me see if I can come up with a tutorial showing how I did part of the clamp. The cast parts are all done using the same basic method. I'll see if I can show my work. 😉

    Jason,
In Maxwell, You can set the 'intensity' for each environmental (HDRI) channel.
For instance you can increase the intensity of the 'illumination' chanel to e.g 10 (instead of default 1) to get brighter output.
You can change the intensity levels for each channel seperately (doesn't have to be the same value for all).

In this case, you can enable all the channels (= uploading the hdr in the refraction/reflection/background channel)except for the 'illumination' channel and let the physical sky take care of the light.

    Cheers,
