No, just an HDRI and a mostly closed area. HDRI comes in via the missing "ceiling". [image: 1779284038891-exterior-view-resized.jpg]

Adam The reason i was able to do it quick is because I only animated four frames (all that was needed) and I lowered the render quality to final and reduced the output size. I had a 64 bit installation last year but changed back to 32 bit due to too many issues of campatability, Since then many apps have begun supporting 64 bit, I plan to upgrade to a new I7 dual quad soon which will be a 64 bit rig. So in answering you I would say yes 32 bit rendering will be slightly slower, however I use 5 rigs on a render cow configuration which makes the difference un-noticable. The .skp importer works okay (not great) I still prefer using .3ds export, but that's more because I am stuck in a tested workflow. Please ask me anything, I will do my best to help.

Going from cigarets to pills and drugs . (I am not into those BTW) This is a bit Off-topic, as I did this animation in Cinema4D . I hope that is not a problem just for this time...: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWf_GBEr6GQ&fmt=18 [flash=640,400:1zh8hjdq]http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=2752527&server=vimeo.com&show_title=1&show_byline=1&show_portrait=0&color=00ADEF&fullscreen=1[/flash:1zh8hjdq]

Thanks, Boo, but when I posted the same size stuff last week this didn't happen (and my post this AM is the only time I've seen it anywhere so far ?~) Oh well, got it now.

fymoro I Think you have done a great job on this image, very realistic looking. I do agree that the tile on the far side need to be aligned and after hearing that comment I noticed that the tile on the near side is (slightly) misaligned as well. I agree that changing the field of view is an important thing but in this image the first thing I noticed is that the field of view is off a bit. To me, it looks as if the columns are leaning outward. I usually use a setting of 35. One last comment is that the trumpet appears to be floating just a bit. I think it would actually rest on three points, (for lack of better terms since I know nothing about musical instraments) I think the mouth piece would rest on the ground as well. Other then that, GREAT work!!

Darren, thank you...and as Gai (your check's in the mail, BTW :`) said, I think I've posted here all the trees in this image: search me and tree or trees. If there's one you can't find I'd be happy to share, just let me know.

Hi Fred I rode what Gaius has written and I agree too. May be you may also focus on books which seem to be copies of the same group. You could rotate them. Quite impressive work MALAISE

Nice modeling and rendering, Eddy. About the glass, that texture looks great when there's a sky backdrop that matches it, as it appears like the sky is reflected in the windows. It almost works in the first image, but thee sky has fewer clouds and is lighter than the glass image. In the courtyard view, one would expect to see the opposite walls reflected inthe windows, so seeing the sky insttead looks odd. You might try a dark gray glass, adjusting the transparency, and then setting it's reflectancy in Podium. You miht also want to find a new grass texture - that pale green doesn't look natural.

Nice modeling and detailing. Two minor issues: in the first image, the wood grain on the jamb should be running vertical, not horizontal; and in the last image, the bump texture on the rake should be running parallel to it's slope, not horizontal.

Good start, Rasmus. You might want to try wood textures that are more weathered in appearance, or have a more pronounced grain. There some nice wood textures to be found at http://www.accustudio.com/index.php?option=com_phocagallery&view=category&id=46:&Itemid=77 Also, wood roof shingles (standard SU texture) would better match the original.

First: Thank you, thank you! High praise, indeed, from the likes of you guys! So glad to hear hours of study and gigs of practice pleases more just than me. Ross, the greyscale layer tip will be used alot now, thank you (I remember reading something similar in one of Mateo's tuts, but promptly forgot about it: which happens a lot lately...more each year :`) I haven't had time to play with it much, but here's a start...I put another "hot" color layer under the greyscale, then erased out the grey layer to intensify, and erased out the top transparent color layer to diminish. The result (I think...?) is a control of the atmospheric perspective, without dulling the vibrancy, like I've never had before: [image: bk5x_tn_KBI-5-wc3g-mix.jpg] [image: dkhR_tn_KBI-5-wc2g-mix.jpg] [image: tfxv_tn_palace1.jpg] [image: jL8c_tn_palace1g-mix.jpg]
