Oops! Sorry, guys for that lapsus calami - what I really wanted to say was an actual building with an exact location ( like in the case of that basilica ). Anyway, thanks for the explanation. Pilou, how can you tell if a basilic is properly oriented? [image: basilic_3.jpg]

I have had this problem and the only way i managed to get arround it was as follows. You need to open the model in max weld all the components together and save as a 3ds. Then sketchup will be able to inport it. If you dont weld the parts it scatters the parts all over the place. Dont stress when you weld it, when you open it in SU it still sees the parts as seperate pieces and if you triple click the parts remain as seperate pieces. However if the model is too complicated or has a high poly count there is NO way to inport it sketchup just doesnt handle it but i do manage to get most archmodels inported.

Happy new year to you all. Did you all get a chance to look at the second ICEvision we published just after the news letter went out? If so, any thoughts? I love the texture of the wood inside main entrance. Andy

Well, it is what we committed to do. The idea is to keep 1.x in development while we also work on V2.... At some point we will stop developing V 1.x and that will "probably" happen once the V2 is out of beta. All versions of 1.x are free upgrade. We will have very small upgrade fee for V2.

@frederik said: @chris fullmer said: Is it a program that makes them? or is it a web site that sells them? Al never seemed to answer your question, Chris... Arroway Textures is a web-site, where you can purchase some great textures... You are able to download and try the textures... These samples isn't the same high resolution as the licensed textures and previously you weren't allowed to used them in your commercial work... @unknownuser said: If you find yourself using these sample textures in your professional work, please consider buying a full license. If you interested to see how these great high resolution textures do work with a renderer, install Kerkythea and download some Arroway material packs (kindly provided to the KT community by Mr. Menzel from Arroway textures) for free.

EEbyRails v2 has been optimized so the number of segments in rails/profiles isn't so critical BUT for the 'smoothest' meshes use the same number of segments in each pair of rails/profile, or at least multiples (20+10 say) Version 2 also has a final 'melding-profile' option so you can control the pairs of sides in a mesh - both rails and profiles, so that all edges will 'mesh' with adjoining surfaces... get it here http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?p=201286#p201286

I never go above 220,220,220 for whites.(sometimes even 205,205,205 when the scene is brightly lit in exteriors). When the white material has a lot of reflection and/or refraction (glass) assigned, you especially need to be careful not to use high RGB's, because you risk to break the law of conservation of energy. Reflecting/refracting more light than you put in is physically impossible and will always look wrong.

Thanks to Al, Chris and Gaius, I made a copy of what was installed in my laptop: the 3 files in sketchup/plugin and all folder the Render Plus System in Program Files and now it s working. I think that something was not installed in the render plus system....

Gai, Thanks for the response. The fact that Twilight will be able to render sections in future has me sold on it. Kerky has been a great free companion though. Stan

For this use SuPodium Mac / Windows...same license Great in exterior renderings More than user friendly...like twighlight, which hasn`t a Mac version now Podium starts with the new V2.0 ( beta ) which has also no Mac Version in beta stage, but the actual 1.7 works well on Mac and will be supported further. You won`t loose anything by buying it know, if you want to uprgrade to the new release later. Informations are by http://www.suplugins.com Also please take a look here in the forum with the search function. You'll find a lot of information about all the renderengines, including http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=3220. greetings from the 21th century

@alpro said: Sepo, yes I did get to finally download the beta thanks to Dave at support. But still can't connect to the download page or supodium, wonder if its related to the problem Edson and some other users have sometimes connecting even though I thought I read that it was just users from Brazil that were having that problem. Either way, thanks to Dave and I'm gonna give V2 a tryout today. Mike mike, my problem seems to have been solved. eventually i managed to get hold of some tech people from my provider and they found out the problem: the route from my provider to podium's was blocked somewhere along the way (not at the start nor at the end). the solution was to re-route my access. i hope this is a definitive solution.

@pugz1983 said: Hi Everybody, Is there a way to purge all indigo material settings. I've always liked the way Indigo renders, but I hate the Fatal errors. I've searched the indigo forum for answer bu didn't find it. I cant seem to figure out were the error is in my materials so I want to purge all naterial and UV settings. PLease help Greetz from The Netherlands Hi pugz, You can purge Indigo settings using the Ruby Console. Type 'SkIndigo.purge_mats' to purge all your material settings. Type 'SkIndigo.purge_model' to purge all your render settings. I think you can only purge stored UV sets by selecting the faces in your model and then right-click->SkIndigo UV Mapping->Purge UV sets. Sorry to hear that you are getting error messages. I'm not sure what version of SkIndigo you are using but I have been doing a lot of bug-fixing lately. Keep checking the website for the next stable release of Indigo and SkIndigo (2.2) which should hopefully be out in a matter of days. If you could please post the error messages you are getting, that would be a big help. Thanks!

Yes, I saw the pre-order discount. But we had a hard time with Maxwell using the first versions. I am afraid I will pass this time and wait for the first signs of a solid and well tested version of VfSU on OSX. As I understand the current version VfSU (PC version) is not yet properly developed either. Francois
