i saw a friend using indigo on windows and he could render a few scenes at once (without having to manually press 'render' in indigo)

i can't do this on mac.. or, i don't think i can.. am i missing something or is it not possible to do this?

Hmmm...it might not be possible on Mac. I think you can only have one window of Indigo open at a time on Mac.
Your friend may have been using the scene tab animation export tecnique where you set all of your scene delay times to 1 second and your transition time to 0 seconds and export a scene tab animation with 1 fps frame rate. This way, you can export all of your scenes in one operation.
This is not yet supported on Mac but I want to add it for the next major release.

i don't think he was using scene tab animation export.. (he'd been using free indigo for 3 days or so and knew basically nothing about how to use it)..

he choose his view in SU then hit the indigo icon in skindigo. indigo opened and began rendering the scene.. then he went back to SU, changed his view, then pushed the icon again.. a new indigo opened and began rendering alongside the other view.

for me, that would be awesome because i could render multiple views overnight (which i can't do now without babysitting my computer)..
i often render smaller sized views for an hour or two each.. if i could render multiple scenes at once then i could do say 5 of them for 10 hours.. i'd show up in the morning and have 5 renders with 2 hrs of render time each (theoretically)

i'd say that ability is sorely needed.

That would not be particular to Indigo - you do the same in native SU (or with other rendering apps) too. Why don't you try? This is also the way I do it when exporting large models with CubicPanoOut for GoCubic and eventually QTVR panoramas. Go to sleep and by the time you get up in the morning (or come back from the Corner Bar) the images are there.

haha gai, of course i've tried

it doesn't work.. indigo is one of the few apps i can think of that won't allow me to open an additional window.. (actually, it's the only app i can think of at this time that won't allow me to do that)

[edit - the reason i brought up his 3 day experience was to point out that he didn't know any of the basic features of indigo much less the advanced ones (scene tab animation export)]
