Meshlabs file conversion software

I was looking for a way to convert sketchup files into different formats and i came across. Most people probably know about this but i though i would post it here as it seems quite useful -

i know this software, but seems that it dont works on big model, now i'm searching for a converter reading u3d file (to 3ds or better skp), did you hear about this kind of software ?? -
meshlab does not work on large files? I've not tried it before but a friend was just asking me about it earlier today. Does it do error checking for holes and bad meshes?

It's more likelly that .3ds cannot handle large polycounts.

I see. .dae can be exported from SU, and meshlab does handle that format, as well as .obj then if it is just the .3ds file format that gets in the way.
