@miikka1978 said: Is there some limitations with the size of the model? For example, I would like to bake a golf course model (2000m x 2000m) and import the model into Unity. The file size is about 5-6MB. No intrinsic limits. However, you can significantly accelerate your workflow by structuring your model, using Layers, "Zoning" your (golf) landscape into top-level Groups to make it easier to edit and process, using a consistent level-of-detail both in terms of geometry detail and texture detail (no 6000x6000 textures for the basket in the corner). etc. Adam

Octane demo users can't get the exporters... You need to be a 'licensed member' to get access to special parts of the Octane web-site to be able to download the various exporters and other goodies - and that includes the Sketchup Octane Render Exporter that I wrote for them last year [(c) Refractive Software]. It was recently updated to overcome a sudden and unexpected glitch with the new version of web-browser caused by Safari in the latest MAC OS, but it now works the same way on PC and MAC as it did before

In the first way you can change all the maps applied to an object at once (diffuse, bump etc) while in the second you can change them one by one. Remember that the number you see shows the times the texture is repeated on a surface, so higher the number smaller the texture. [image: vyQU_Cattura.JPG] [image: Gued_Cattura_2.JPG]

I have to agree it is not the best idea I usually like to have my 3D PDFs sent by email where they are opened with the full Acrobat reader. Though there are few factors here. You need to have acrobat as the default PDF viewer in FireFox, I guess there are some other tools that may be used to open PDF in the browser. maybe installing acrobat 10 simply changed the default viewer to acrobat. Also the site traffic, when I opened the link in the morning it was fast, and the PDFs were interactive in the web page. I will prepare an example and I will post it to see if this is what you are looking for.

Well I will say one thing [Kerkythea Donate] Pressed, Stinkie My Alien Tower is due to be major up grade but wont be going Via Alien this time as i hate Dell with a passion. Issues is i'm relying on my MacBook Pro to much to renders as this dual core AMD build just takes to long 3x so what i'm having to look at is new pc Build with Dual Processors, and Stay with Kerkythea and invest in Thea to, may as well invest in a product i know and dont have to learn all over again. But if any one has done a timed test for products please share

Sorry for not getting back sooner but got a little side tracked. Although there are a lot of helpful tips and tricks from everyone this all is a bit over my head right now but will still strive to do better renders. Thanks Kurt

Break it up into separate pieces (exterior.skp, interior.skp, at least, if not further). At the very least you should be utilizing layers and turning off objects which aren't in the scene you're rendering. -Brodie

Thanks for the tip. The result did not change a whole lot though: [image: yukk_Skrmbillede2011-06-06kl.12.06.37.png] I also tried with the sketchup method you linked to and got the following map: [image: MLjn_hmn.png] (same result) I wonder if there is some setting to the gradient i need to change so it will create the "valley" after the top ledge. It seems like it gets where the ledge drops down fine, but then it just boost right up even though the gradient indicates otherwise? Maybe this is just not meant to happen. I tried to just paint an eco system on the mesh instead as the mesh is pretty detailed and okay as it is i guess. But it does not place the plant on to the mesh directly but some what under it, so only the top of the trees stick through. At the top of the terrain its okay, but on slopes and such its messy + i cant paint on certain places? Im gonna lay a bit low with all these basic questions, its only because of the time left of this project im asking to save time. Hope it is okay.

Please note that this version is primarily intended for finding out installation bugs. Please report all bugs at Kerkythea forums, so it will be easier to follow them. When reporting bugs, give your os, KT version and if possible attach all files needed to recreate the bug.

Can you post your model (or upload somewhere)?
