The newer versions of SketchUp have an Extension Loading Policy [under Preferences]. If it is set to 'Unrestricted' then any extension or plugin [in the user's Plugins folder] can load as SketchUp starts. Other settings will only load 'signed' extensions, or prompt for 'approval'. Since v2016 extension authors can get their code 'signed' by Trimble. This is of limited comfort, since poor things can be easily approved... Since there are hundreds of extensions, then you might appreciate that it takes time for their authors to get them re-signed by Trimble [let alone fix any coding changes that the version update might demand !]. Just by it reporting as unsigned or having an outdated signature, is not necessarily a cause of concern... Provided that got the file from a reputable source - e.g. EWH, PluginStore, Smustard, or an author's own site...

@driven said: have you tried Face Cutter? facecutter simply cuts through all the faces, it doesn't create the reveal returns (in terms of construction methodology) nor does it create the lintel and sill. @pbacot said: My lintels and sills always come with the door component, so I don't quite understand original post. Really? I only know of Window+ that does the sill for you with the window, but not in terms of construction methodology though. What is it that you don't understand? [image: NluC_01.JPG]

Yes, re-uploading would be good. It's on my to-do list but I am not sure when I will get to it.

Hey good job so far on these extensions - you're off to a good start. However, please read up on using namespace modules to protect your methods from over-writing or being over-written by other same-named methods from other extensions (yes, it has happened.) Read this to start: http://www.thomthom.net/thoughts/2013/02/sketchup-plugin-checklist/ Dan has put together a much more comprehensive collection of links: http://forums.sketchup.com/t/ruby-learning-resources-wikilists/22861

http://youtu.be/YlCQcwxTRfc?list=PLuzXmzWDJs5DtoNdg3rSR-rRPnVcGr25L Physics-based - all computations regarding lights, whether natural or artificial, as well as all materials, their definitions and properties, are not emulations or simulations but designed as algorithms based on the real and natural world. For example, artificial lights use IES standards and Lumens as units; the Sun's setting depend on time, day, geographic and environmental conditions such as types o cloud or fog; cast shadows are not set as "soft" or "hard" but are produced according to actual lighting conditions; materials behave as expected according specific properties and types of finishes... Real-time - depending on the hardware (required an nVidia GPU with a minimum of 500 CUDA cores) and on the complexity of the model, the software responds interactively - the user suffers no wait-time or latency allowing to make design decisions regarding lights and materials on the fly, moreover what you see is always what you get, meaning that the quality of the output depends on user... Hardware scalable: the more and the better the GPUs, the faster results. Unicorn is the only application in the market, so far, that use a local rendering mode or can handle a remote server, render-farm, with four or more video cards... Finally, Unicorn is a rendering compositing tool: it supports the import of up to 45 different file-formats: simply drag and drop into Unicorn a file from Revit, SketchUp, MoI/Rhino, Maya, Blender, or, etc. The user can edit in the native 3D modeling application any of the models and simply re-import it; Unicorn retains the material settings already assigned to the original geometry thus updating the composition, again, in real-time...

Are there any examples showing the full potential of this plugin? It's released, but the product site is quite unconvincing. Is it possible to make a dynamic component out of the Viz definition?

Get the newest version of the SketchUcation Toolset - v3.0.4 Specifically updated to resolve a weird glitch that a few users reported in v2017 [where the dialog comes out fixed at 37px high] - most users didn't see this, but that update now resolves things for the few...

Never knew that existed "Access to our technical support resources" would have been useful. Fortunately, although I was never able to sign in with my Trimble account, I was able to sign in with my Google account and have not had any problem since.

A and B are to save/restore parameters. You can't make "disproportionate corners" with RoundCorners.

Thanks TIG, I'll take a look. To be sure, I don't want to explode/ungroup the geometry, just make sure it goes to layer0 and that all groups (from the selection) end up on the layer I intend / specify?

Where did you get 'Axes Manager' from ? Do you mean something else ? There is a 'UCS Manager' RBZ [DBUR_UcsManager.rbz] available from the SketchUcation Pluginstore http://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=DBUR_UcsManager_v1_0_0 When properly install it has a subfolder named 'DBUR_UcsManager' in which is a Resources subfolder, which contains the PDF [UCS Manager.pdf]. The EWH includes a newer one by Didier named 'Axes Manager' ? With similar files/subfolders 'DBUR_AxesManager.rbz' etc. There is a Resources subfolder containing 'Axes Manager 2016.pdf' ? So How did you install it ? Using Windows > Preferences > Extensions > Install Extension... button ? I have just installed both from their RBZ and they both include the PDF in the ../Plugins/DBUR_XxxxManager/Resources subfolder...
