How do you select and rotate any section plane in the same manner you are speaking of? I select a section plane and it does not rotate in the axis normal to the plane. Rotating in other ways doesn't make sense in this context. Obtaining an orthographic view that is properly rotated to any way you need it should be a part of SketchUp but it's one of those shortcomings. And don't waste time hoping it will improve. You have to buy LayOut so you can rotate a view anyway you want (but without more trickery it will be a rotated rectangular image). Or use the plugin. Pretty easy to know the angle. I do model buildings in separate files than the site file. It saves a lot of trouble-- all my model is components anyway. Making the whole building a component is natural, but in the end what if you want a certain plan view including the site? Still can't be done unless you rotate the site itself and use the North arrow plugin to change the North direction.

@ntxdave said: . Interesting to see that others have had this happen as well. That along with the random clipping (which has also been discussed in some other threads) seem to be more prevalent in 2015 64bit than it was in 2014. Am getting 'random' clipping too. Haven't had that problem for years. (Still using 2015)

Hi Arthur, hi folks. Maybe you can rename each scene with the hour. This wold work for an animation seen using SketchUp. Or use layers to make visible, in turn for each scene, a screen text showing the time for that particular scene. This would work for escorted animation. Just ideas.

If you use the Sketchucation plugin store, you will later have the possibility to use the update function for installed plugins... Or if you update your SU version, you can use the bundle function to install fresh copies of all plugins with one click...

to add to Steve's reply: the Material folder will need to be made if you haven't 'saved' one from inside SU before... You can use 'Finder' [menu] >> 'File' >> 'New Folder' or save a Material in SU first... john

hi guys, Thanks for the reply's, I have sent this question also to the developers of the program. They knew the problem, and in the last update it is fixed. I recently bought the program its a very nice and good plugin. You pay just for a license. Sam

Hi folks. See added scene 4 in this SU file for an idea that doesn't affect the terrain since it is a separate group. Any of the blocks can be made as a component or group and then manipulated as you wish by moving or rotating. You can use the Push/Pull tool to modify the dimensions of each making it shorter/longer or narrower/wider. Rectangle on topo.skp

That's not too bad, I never saw the upgrade price, just Buy Now price. Makes sense an upgrade would be cheaper. Thanks,

For the extrude tool by TIG maybe Divide your line! Right Click / Divide and make the same number of segments than your other curves! (generally the opposed curve) Recurve by Digssey for weld your Line divided but with keeping the number of segments!

If I isolate a small part of the terrain by copying and pasting it outside, the section cut works normally. It appears to be related to size of the terrain.

It would be best to do this with LayOut. Create the required scene(s) in SketchUp and make sure you have set the camera to Parallel Projection. Then send the file to LayOut and set each viewport to show one of the scenes. You can set the scale in the SketchUp inspector window in LO.Drag the edges of the viewport as needed if you need to adjust the size. Add any text, dimensions, etc. and then use File>Export>PDF to create a pdf file that you can then send to the printer.

I installed and played with the Bezier Curves tool, so far so good, it is certainly a lot easier than how I was making the paths. The paths may not match available tubing u-bend radius' to fabricate from, but it provides the visual concept well perfectly! Thanks again for the guidance! My test manifold for tubing alignment using Bezier Curves attached to straight stubs.

Here is my dilema coping a single angle is not a issue but adding multiple tubes and then rotating and angling back makes it difficult and then coming in on the other end of the tube make it more interesting. Mitch apparently I cant add a skp file here for you. send me a pm with a email and Ill send the joint to you so you can see it more clearly with all the angles happening. [image: xY6U_IMG_1008.JPG]

Old. Well, relatively speaking. Win7 64bit SP1 Intel Xeon CPU W3565 6GB Ram Nvidia Quadro FX580. I might mention also that this system does not render some of the link buttons properly and uses some proxy fonts for some of the text on this and other SU pages. For example up at the top of the page, there is the group of buttons for Settings, Messages, Posts etc. The buttons are little boxes with little letters in them. So it is with the Login button at above right. They work, but they don't look right. Actually that is an old problem that I contacted Gabor about in the past. Edit: I use Firefox currently at v42

[image: 349732727295659055] Vanishing Point Filter tools export Vpe files to Sketchup - Creates 3d models https://www.pinterest.com/pin/349732727295659055/ any grid(s) created in vanishing point can be exported in VPE format - Vanishing point exchange - the export results in a series of files - a geometry data file and a rectified png image for each grid created. This Vanishing Point export option is the reverse of the the process of pasting a rectified image on the clipboard into any grid perspective plane drawn . Example Russel Brown video " Ribbon of Perspective" shows the process of pasting an image into vanishing point grid and the image can be move between perspective grids and non perspective while maintaining the same scale factor. apply VPE export to his file will give the reverse process - perspective grids will be exported as rectified grids. The rectified grids can be imported into skectchup to create a 3d Model rVanishing point option import option can be used to transfer grids a complete 3d Model - only skectup problem is the axis point in sketchup has to be changed. Exporting and rectifying Vanishing Point Grids -, VPE format - has not got a tutorial on this feature- Why? the information is only discussed on Photoshop (Vanishing point grids exchange) and affect effects. Vanishing point export tools can be exported as 3d model - even transfer to photoshop 3d app. or Skectchup Summary: photoshop perspective grids can be exported as scaled rectified image files - duplcating the Phot Match feature in trimble sketchup Research Photoshop vpe file and other 3d model formats.
