Inktspace--pdf---dwg---sketch up

Hi guys,

I imported a pdf into inkspace saved it like a dxf file and imported in sketch up.
But I get this result he draws all the bricks and lines, is here a solution available?
Ore is the only solution to import the direct pdf file and re scale it?

Looks like they used some mask in the pdf?

You could double click on the brick lines in Inkscape and:

delete them - I clean up my pdfs all the time (deleting text and not needed stuff) to shorten the import time in SketchUp.
look for a way to apply the mask to the lines in Inkscape (not sure if this can be done)

I've got an experimental plugin that uses pstoedit and .import dxf to try and automate this process...

if you can post some pdf examples I'll try and do some work on it for PC usage...

@kaas: i tried to clean them inside sketch up but that's realy a mes and a very unpleasing job and almost not doable. I don't know/find a solution inside inktspace . This is really strange that there is no plugin yet for this problem. Ore does anybody else knows a good solution.
Ore else i will just import the pdf as image and draw on them.

Sam, your file was made in Vectorworks and has twelve pages...

it usesArialMT for the fonts which are not compatible with the 'to dxf' script I'm using as it needs a PDF Font...

If you split the pdf and try one at a time in Inkscape you may have better luck...

I'l keep digging...

I'll PM my latest test on your plan view...
pdf >> svg >> eps >>dxf >> skp...
using
pdf2svg >> inkscape >> pstoedit >> SketchUp...

it could all be scripted, but only if useful...

At one point I was working on a plugin to import a vector PDF directly into SketchUp as geometry, not an image. There were some unsurmountable technical issues (e.g. PDF has line with width, fill pattern, corner joins, and end caps which all have no equivalent in SketchUp). Also the sample PDFs people had at the time were sloppy, with lots of carelessly placed line segments that didn't match up. I don't need this for my own use, and there was no expression of interest on the forum, so I moved on to other things. If you would like, send me your file and I'll see what the plugin makes of it.
