Is it OK to share plugins simply by copy&pasting the files?

I'm trying to make my colleagues use SketchUp more and Revit less for tasks where SketchUp is obviously better, and would like them to take advantage of certain plugins, such as the fantastic fredo-collections.
However, it is a lot of work to find and install each individual plugin. I tried copying the entire plugin folder to another user, and every plugin seemed to work just fine. Is this OK?

Yeah, should be. You should consider using the sketchucation warehouse for all your plugins, then you can autoinstall "bundles". Really useful when you do a lot of moving between computers.

Yes. I prefer this way to have more control. I use Program Data/Sketchup 2015/Plugins folder on Windows

Most of the time you should be ok. I can think of two situations that could cause issues. First, if the computers have different versions of SketchUp you will need to be sure that the one from which you are copying plugins has all the latest versions. Plugins often need to be updated when there is a new version of SketchUp. Second, some plugins create folders at non-standard locations. If any of these are in your suite, you will have to copy the support folders too. And finally, if any of the plugins are licensed you need to be certain you are not violating the license terms.

If you use the Sketchucation plugin store, you will later have the possibility to use the update function for installed plugins...
Or if you update your SU version, you can use the bundle function to install fresh copies of all plugins with one click...
