If you move Move tool cursor over the rotation handles, you can rotate it about its center without switching tools. If you always seem to be rotating the component, maybe you need to change its axis orientation so it comes in already rotated or you need to give it gluing properties so it rotates to align with the face if you are putting it on a face.

Well, I've never had anything to leak. It just seems like a big leap to a conclusion that doesn't have any merit and it feels a bit like stirring the pot.

You really should only resort to plugins to do such basic things once you can do them manually or you severely limit your understanding of and ability to progress with the software.

Check your model scale. If the triangles being generated are too small, it could cause errors. Try scaling up and see if you still run into problems. @brightwater said: I have mastered the follow me tool for creating a dome but cannot make it work when creating a very low dome. Does any one have experience of this.

Might be able to find an open font that is close enough for your needs. No idea. I did a search last night, but as I had mentioned to someone else, it was sent to me as ai file, so it could be a font that was edited in Illustrator, and I need to use exactly what was sent. Wait, you have the .ai file? Open in Illustrator and then save as a .dxf or .dwg and then open in SketchUp. Extrude till the cows come home! HA HA HA HA HA HA - Was just about to hit the sack and talk to my Firestick but saw this as I was leaving. That was the best! I will absolutely check it out tomorrow morning when I can focus. Who knew!!!! Brilliant! THANK YOU SO MUCH. Will giggle myself to sleep now. Good thing I must be related to a pit bull somewhere and won't let go, because failure is not an option. (Hive mentality) So... I had to save the file in an older version of Illustrator in order for SU7 to recognise the .dxf file, then save it there as an .skp - opened it in 17.2 but all I am getting are edges, so there is no way to push/pull a face? UPDATE: I DID IT!!!!! LABOR OMNIA VINCIT!!!! Thank you all you kind PATIENT people. Thank you YouTube, and I'll take my Oscar now please. Hello, thanks for your advisors. I made this, It is pretty good for my first time just some line in the form after extrude. I resize the scale X1000. That is ok, I have learned something today. Just made a hole under the wheel pants for the wheel. 2 parts for 1 it is a good idea just a little glue and everythink will be well. I think I will more problem with the bonnet. Thanks see you later. [image: QU3Q_1.jpg] [image: CsWj_2.jpg]

The built in templates are stored here C:\Program Files\SketchUp\SketchUp 2018\Resources\en-US\Templates While the custom templates are found here C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2018\SketchUp\Templates And as Pcmoor has shown, the quickest way to your custom template is to click the folder icon.

That item causes SketchUp to scan the model's geometry database looking for conditions that violate the database's integrity rules. That is, data that should not have happened yet somehow did, and that affect the engine's ability to traverse the database - such as an illegal object id. As in any other database, allowing such violations to persist runs the risk of causing more violations and eventually causing SketchUp to crash. So far as I know they have never documented the rules (just as they have never documented the database schema itself). My own experience is that most of the time the fixups involve internal issues that mean very little to the end user. And, most of the time the fix has no detectable effect on the model. On rare occasions however the fix can destroy geometry that was entangled in the violations. I don't know whether your disconnected dimensions would be considered an integrity violation or not.

As usual, Dave is correct. Probing with Ruby in the console I see that all three of the dimensions that appear to relate to the rack have lost their connection to geometry in the model. I don't know how that happened, but they should be deleted and recreated.

Simple DXF only works with files created by cutmaster or with files created with Simple DXF. It is not intended to be a generic DXF utility. It focuses on maintaining proper arcs, and polylines and allows you to control directionality for CNC equipment where direction is important as with certain machining operations for CNC routers.

@robint said: Files from 2016? I didnt think I ever used 2016 unless its very very recent and I DIDNT UPLOAD ANYTHING so how can you see these files? Is there some intrusion into my pc I dont know about To put your mind at rest, there is no intrusion into your computer, you simply need to look at your earlier posts. You posted multiple times in a MSPhysics thread and uploaded several files. https://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=56852&p=611559#p611559 When I open those file they tell me they were made using 2016. [image: K1VE_2016.PNG] So I was just trying to work out if you needed a new version of an old version or a version to reinstall what you already had. Because 2017 Make would be the easiest available, but If you did need 2016 because you have an older OS then I would have given you a link to download the older 2016 Make. But if you had it on your computer previously I would have suggested you could look for your original install file. Simply put, giving full and accurate information an up to date profile and avoiding vague references, along with explaining your needs clearly, helps us answer your questions with the most accuracy. No doubt some will think this post impolite, but I'm just trying to help make things clearer.

@dave r said: Doing what I described, extend the edge of the step out a bit beyond the end. If using Follow Me, extend both ends. Draw the round over profile at 90° to the extended line. <!-- ia2 -->Screenshot - 9_14_2018 , 7_09_26 AM.png<!-- ia2 -->[/attachment:2bsn6w8o] Extrude the profile. If you use Follow Me, preselect the path including the extended edges on each end, get the tool, click on the profile face. Since the run is straight, you could use Push/Pull instead. For Push/Pull you don't need the extended edges. <!-- ia1 -->Screenshot - 9_14_2018 , 7_10_59 AM.png<!-- ia1 -->[/attachment:2bsn6w8o] Select all of the geometry, right click and choose Intersect Faces>With Selected. Then erase the waste and correct the face orientation on the roundover as needed. <!-- ia0 -->Screenshot - 9_14_2018 , 7_11_50 AM.png<!-- ia0 -->[/attachment:2bsn6w8o] This is similar to what Liam shows but avoids the need to move the roundover into place and prevents possible errors in placement. Nice!

Although I'm sure someone can give you a better answer and include a GIF, which I can't do. I would draw all of your linework on a single plane (like a simple 2D elevation) and then use "Move" holding the "ALT" key to auto-fold your selections. I'm sorry I know I've not made it clear, I'll try to follow it up with an example. Chris Example for Sucation2016.skp
