Hi thanks again for taking a look at my post, but I've yet to find a solution. I've been at the computer now for close to 6 hours haha I've saved it in every format - looked endlessly online and all I can find are how to's on how to export, but nothing about preserving the actual image. I really did the cell shading and thick lines, but no matter what format I just get blocky object without any lines.

That would be a way to get an opening roughly based on the radius of curvature of the wall. I don't think JPP actually removes the opposite wall face in such a case. You may have to extrude right through the wall with JPP, then perform an "intersect faces" to cut out the wall and remove what you don't need. This would work fine for an opening where there is in fact no door. I have designed (at least one!) door to go in a curved wall. The door opening (jambs) was not in fact angled on the radius of the curve. The side jambs were straight, parallel, aligned to a radial line at the center of the door. Otherwise there would have been a lot of issues in construction. (We didn't have a curved door.) In this case I would create a rectangle apart from the curve and push-pull it through the wall, then perform "intersect faces" etc.

I understand that. If you aren't inserting the files into your model, it'll be more efficient to just work through your browser.

@awoolwine said: Downloaded LibFredo6 corners yesterday. it was working fine. today it gives me a message "INVALID-no match of edge properties-F+709. ??? This has to do with the setting of the filter of edge properties, which you may need to adjust to select or exclude edges [image: TEzu_FredoCornerFilteredges.png] fredo PS: the F 709 is a trace which I will remove (I use it for debug)

Joe, Yup, some cats are OK. Our DamaTheCat lived to be a ripe old 19 year old. She was a Tortie and also could be carried around like your PDC. Before she passed she, with a little help form us, raised a 6 week old mix breed pup we found on the side of the road in Baja. We still have and love the Pup which is marvelous except for the traits that Dama instilled in her during the pup's childhood. This cat of ours we called Dama, but her real name was 'Ookedama' which is Japanese for 'Most Honorable Hair Ball'. Critters are a pain, but it's hard to live without them once you have had them around. Thanks for the comment. Bye Now, Mike

A tip.... Change the color of your guidelines to something not normally used in SU, like a medium orange. Not green, blue nor red. Yellow is hard to see as well. Being black and dashed they tend to hide. It would be nice if the guidelines could be 2 pixels wide, but, that ain't gonna happen.

If I understand correctly. It can easily be done.Make a block (the mould material) larger than the concrete block. Place the concrete block with the top side (the side that will be the open side of the mould) on a face of the mould block. Remove the face covering where the concrete will be and make sure the there are faces on top of the parts that will create center voids. Orient faces so all "FRONT FACES" are facing outward (contextual menu "orient faces"). Please see attached with the mould in transparent material (which I hope makes it clearer--the pink is all surfaces that will contain the concrete). (If you are using a typical template your front faces are probably white and the back faces are blue. My front faces here are the pale yellowish color.) There are 8 entries shown for SketchUp exe running, and the Task Manager dialog has many more entries. They seem to be running but not opening the main SketchUp window. Try 'killing' all of the 'SketchUp' entries and retry... I also see that your system dialogs display using oriental characters [Japanese?]. What is your Windows user-name ? If it's in similar characters I am wondering if that is causing problems with reading some file info. Your user's SketchUp Plugins folder and certain 'preferences' files are located in your 'AppData' tree. e.g. C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2018\SketchUp\Plugins It's hidden by default...

I'm sorry but this shouldn't be called a tutorial. Yes it could be called how I drew a house. But it is not a good teaching aid. I have a fairly good idea of what I am doing and I struggle follow what you are doing. To a beginner it would be incomprehensible. A tutorial needs to be clear, concise and understandable, you need to see what tools are being used and how. For some reason your cursor isn't being recorded properly so it isn't clear what is being done. A demo perhaps, a tutorial it is not.

You might also to want to trap to avoid trying to switch off the 'current layer' [which is usually, but not exclusively, Layer0], otherwise that could throw an error...

Thanks Dave. I asked the other person to install cleanup and run it on the stl before sending the file to me - and when I opened it it was perfect. I've modified it had it exported as stl again - converted to g.code and printed it. It went flawlessly. Thanks again for your help.

You can make it easier to see how to rotate a shape by drawing a flat plane to work on, make it a group so you don't stick to it. [image: EwxG_RotateFlat.gif]
