Maybe just to tell you how install a plugin ?
Load the plugin, as it's a file ".rb" and you have a Windows System says your profil
Compress it for have a ".zip" file (if you have not http://www.7-zip.org/ but use Zip format)
Rename the zip file ".zip" in ".rbz"

Now From Sketchup Menu Window/ Preferences/ Extensions / Install Extension/ load the
      "add&Allign Component.rbz"
      Close SketchUp
      Re launch SketchUp

Plugin will be Menu Plugins (or Extension, I don't remember)
      SDM Tools / CorG Tool / add&Allign Component ๐Ÿ˜„

      [highlight=#ffff00:1o8gz9a7]Thanks Pilou,
I have installed it correctly now and reloaded SU and when I click on the object I get a Ding sound so something is obviously wrong. Is the plugin compatible with SU 2017?[/highlight:1o8gz9a7]

What exactly do you mean by that?

That is more easy method for align any volumes (Components with tricky axis - not only a cylinder)
in any alignment in the 3D space to a Guide line or line o 2 clicks in any position in the 3D Space!
So a dream for the user! ๐Ÿ˜Ž Just 5 clicks! ๐Ÿค“

    • Align object to a line

I'm trying to align a piece of tube to a guideline which is at an angle to the X, Y and Z axes. How do I do it in a simple way?

Sounds like you have made it a glue to component.
Right click on it and see if the option UnGlue is in the context menu.

Yes, the Unglue is in the context menu. I clicked it and now I can move it up and down. I have to find out what this Unglue is, never seen it before. Thanks!

    • Moving a component along axis

I have created a dynamic door component and I am trying to align it with the door post. I need to move slightly up and whatever I try it won't move upwards. I try with inference and holding down the Shift key or using the Arrow Up key but nothing works. When I try to move it up it moves away and trying to move it down it moves towards me. I was wondering if there is something with the way I created the dynamics of the component that causes this. Any ideas?

      Hi

Checked DC, correct and works fine. could you check the axis 0f the model you have inserted it and see if it changed the DC axis?

I checked the axes and they are OK. I tried to import the DC again into my project and it appeared as in the picture although the DC doesn't look like that. I then tried RELOAD on the DC and it corrected itself. I think that I have imported the DC before, scaled it and got this wrong form and the saved it by mistake. Could it be that my project 'remembers' what my DC looked like before? Now it all works but I don't understand what's happening behind the scene in SU.

      LenZ "
=15.1 cm" indicates an error, which can stop the DC from working (=15.1 would be correct without the "cm")

      could you upload the DC?

otherwise open and check the axis of the DC, this can be corrected (right click a part of the axis and place) and then close and save it as a component (use right context menu)

      Here is the DC

    • DC confusing behaviour

      http://i600.photobucket.com/albums/tt87/hcccs/pic2.jpg

Strange things happen with my corrugated sheet metal roof DC. The attributes look like in picture 1. If I import it into an empty project the repeating function works but the attributes now look like in picture 2. If however I import it into my house project it doesn't work anymore. The 'creases' multiply but they become elongated. The attributes look like in picture 2. Is it normal not to see the sub-component in the attributes? It is very confusing. Can someone tell me what's happening?
