Hi Navop, hi folks. Dont confuse the Rotate Tool and the Protractor that is used to measure angles and add guides at an angle. Just ideas.

You can change the axes (Tools menu > Axes) but the align view will always be related to the original world axes. If you "set up" your building however correctly, this generally doesn't cause a problem because the view will still be somewhat "natural".

OK, better this way. The 3D Warehouse "Swivel" function (or the SketchUp Web Exporter) is not Flash based but JavaScript. You can already do it very easily even without any serious knowledge of programming or scripting - have a look at this article in "The Daily CatchUp" (and follow the link at the bottom to the SketchUpdate article). There are a bunch of other ways to integrate a SU model (via different export options) into a web page - let them be "simple" movie files or even interactive walkthrough solutions (some of which indeed involves Flash but not necessarily). MOV files are not the "best" for (real) walkthroughs as they will provide a single viewport from where you can look around in a "virtual reality" panorama and maximum you can link several ones together to "jump" from one place to the other using hot spots. Here is one I made (no hot spots though just a single panorama) built in SU and rendered in Kerkythea: http://www.gaieus.hu/su/videos/Carmelite.mov Then there are pdf versions like this one: http://www.gaieus.hu/su/VskR.pdf Then another solution which needs a browser plugin called Hypercosm however: http://www.gaieus.hu/su/Vsk.html And many more (some including really cool,"real" walkthroughs which are like FPS games but I'm still just experimenting with them)

Well, in V-Ray the dispalcement has a very weird result, you think subdividing the mesh will make the dispalcement work? Also, what is the max polycount per model that SU can handle, is it better to break up a large model into segments or import it as a hole?

you know I just realised.. I did'nt show why I needed this.. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3201/2738256377_ab04f8f13a_o.jpg my on going TARDIS project.. modeled and rendered in trueSpace 4.3.. until I got stuck doing the pipes. but with Jim's Importer and your Fix Remus, I can use SU's lovely abilities to just snap pipe sections together to carry on...

Also note that if you turn X-ray render mode on,you can select edges and points "through" faces that would otherwise obscure your view. So X-ray is not "just a cool 'glass rendering' display mode but can have practical uses as well.

Yep Not find yet something tricky except the plug of Chris Fullmer Scale and rotate Multiple Works fine with different objects in the same times! Each "hole circle" must be a group or a "components" The good parameter is Scale about "Center" for the Chris Fullmer plug if not group or cmponent must find a plug who convert a selection with some object in group or component (must be existing)yes see 2 posts following Alas the problem are the "black empty white holes" So work on a "plan" then push pull it at the end Workflow can be Explode all Select the the up face plane with the holes Kill inverse selection Group each Holes (this now is made by hand but maybe will automatic in few time*****) (see 2 post following) Apply Scale and rotate multiple By Chris Fullmer (center) Explode all Push pull ***** Now you can yet make this Select "holes" move it in the empty space Apply the plug (Loos2groups) = each holes becomes a "group" Move it at old place [image: fr0s_holes.jpg]

Hi dbrabham Just a couple of questions: Is there a prize/reward for undertaking this work for you? What sort of copyright protection do entrants have over their designs? With reference to the question above, is there an agreement in place whereby you can only put a design into manufacture once as a product of this competition, or will you be mass producing the winning designs? Sorry for the questions but there are no terms and conditions on your site.

Yes that makes sens 1/4 of sphere is logical and simple but in fact you can take any variation of that, depending of what you want as angle for your cut out A middle of a line? there is an hot point of the middle of a line, so redraw over start to hot point and kill the bigger

Cool,Mary. You only need to grasp the concept once and from then on, it will seem to be easy. Such "layered and scened" animations are always a bit of a hasle however so once you understand the logic, you may really wish to look into plugins that automate and make this process easier.

Ok, that link you posted had what I needed. I guess I have to drop the materials into the library outside the program. You can't just import from the Painter window while in SU. Thanks!
