Unclear what B and C refer to: the points adjacent to A on the ground? Is the solid resting on a triangular face? Another view would help clarify its shape. Is one supposed to be able to carry out the indicated operations on the provided file? Perhaps add the result of the rotation.

Here is an (empty) model with a style saved in it. It has some clouds. To my best knowledge, it was shared by Chris Fullmer on the old @Last forums before Google shut it down. clouds.skp

Do you mean you've moved the camera? If so, Camera > Previous goes to the previous view Do you mean you've performed an action? Then Edit > Undo or CRTL + Z will restore the previous state up to 100 i think.

I am certainly no maths expert, but the error shows up in almost every along-path-plugin. I think where two lines intersect, there should be a stop-don't extrude any further point. After the crossing (i think even in "round corner") nothing acts like it's supposed to. Perhaps too simple where lines cross each other, where x = y then end. Depending on the function x shouldn't be allowed to be greater than y after an x = y. But I'm also not very good with code-writing... greets, kerr

@unknownuser said: And why not used the Unfold Sketchup tool itself? Flattery by Jim Foltz Iv tried that technic before, unfortunately that doesn't work so well as sometimes the mesh unfolds ontop of another mesh, I briefly remember someone posting something similar in the past, and i myself taught there would be a way to flatten your model in sketchup so to prepare a texture for unwrapping around the model before it was flattened, but that just doesn't happen in sketchup, I'm currently learning uv mapping for game dev models using roadkill and although it was confusing at first I am making fast progress, I also just downloaded sketchuv today at a very low price may I add and looking forward in learning this impressive tool, and both sketchuv and roadkill can work in conjunction with eachother, hope this helps but that's the route I'm taking with UV mapping at the moment

Gai! You are most awesome. I assumed I needed to adjust my approach and had imagined either a group or component. I had seen a video on the difference between the two, but your description makes it clear how to use components efficiently. Got it. Thanks very much. Although I'm a newbie using SU as a productive tool, I've played with it over the years and have been developing designs with Chief Architect--a 3D program for the past 12yrs. I've now decided to learn SU and Revit--at the same time, because I'm tired of using a 2nd rate 3D Architectural program. I catching on to the SU basics, but because I'm production oriented, I'm yearning for best methodology. I'm combing around for all the videos I can to catch-up, but sometimes I don't know how to define what I'm looking for. Thanks for clarifying, I really appreciate it. Zowie

@gaieus said: No way; it's glued to the plane you drew it on - Doh! I must be getting old, I was convinced it was just me making inappropriate glue settings while "sleep-drawing"! Shame there isn't e.g. a different colour selection highlight etc. to indicate glued items - or at least it could show up in the entity info dialogue.

I think this: If reload component is supposed to work better... Then make a unique copy of your components in a copy of the file where they still exist (the "unique" part is optional, I guess, if you make a whole new file). Just pare that component down to something that can be pasted in place--still a component with the same axes as the original. Paste this new small unique component "in place" into the big landscape file, and then reload it with the full component. (You have to "Save As" the good components meanwhile, so you have the reload copies).

You need to do the following... first make a shape to be your light and apply a unique material to it...call it IES emitter or something useful next in the Maxwell Scene Manager using the materials tab assign an IES emitter material to this material you just created in SU. You should see different previews of the various IES lights that came with the Maxwell plugin. If you don't see any light try reversing the faces ... if this doesn't work try increasing the power or wattage of the IES light...however this is just to see if it is working Essentially Maxwell works just like a camera so for interiors lit by lights you need to increase your exposure which is done by changing the EV value in the Maxwell scene manager.. as you do this the FIRE render should update and allow you to tweak the settings until you get the light level you want

I think that's the case. I haven't had any issues that way on my Mac but then I set myself up as the administrator from the git go.

Hi, val: I have not a clue on this one. But, it may get more attention if you can re-post with a new topic title. Just use the same content. Sometimes these add on questions get lost. Just trying to help.

That's a little more of a challenge. For that mug I think I would use Shape Bender. On the other hand, is there a good reason for using 3D geometry for drawing the mug over using a material?

Yes, something similar - if you mean the previous topic. In the last post I speak about 3 strings, like you have a phone cable, so there are 3 strings. Maybe I do not choose right words, English is not my native language. But I think, I should try something. Fredo Scale has twisting tool. But I did not succeed to twist the tubes (paralel ones). I made a group of 4 pipes and tried to twist them. Should it work? Edit: Once I suceed just a little bit. I exploded the group and selected all tubes. Then I twisted them, but just a little bit. Now I cannot succeed nor a bit. But I doubt that this tool would twist more times, like 9999° Edit2: So it is a kind of twist which is not possible to repeat more times. The object either de-twist itself or it get strange kind of twist, not like the wires of cable...

Read that tutorial again. If you combine them into a new, upper level component and also set a gluing/cutting plane for this, you can handle the two together, insert them etc. from the component browser and explode them at the end (so there are two, opposite ones now on the opposite faces - do not explode these). Here is an example model. http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=a7960f12cf33423c9c6e1dd67923b5cd
