Just bigger in this case isn't enough. You need to also consider the radius of the bend especially on the inside or the corner. [image: zxfn_FM1.png] SO this is after running Follow Me on your profile using the path. Notice in the elbow there are some little edges. If you run this and then orbit inside the wall of the pipe you'll see that there are some faces in there. There are edges that only bound one face, not the required two, so the extrusion would fail the requirements for being considered solid. Below the pipe I put an offset edge aligned with the side of the elbow at the inside of the bend. You can see it is very sharp. I expect if this was a piece of PVC pipe that you heated and bent, you would fine that radius too tight. In any case you can select all of the geometry of the tube, right click and choose Intersect Faces>With Selection to create the required intersection where those tiny faces are and then delete them making sure you don't leave any holes or hidden orphan lines and when you make it a component, it should be solid. I've attached the elbow. I made the outside diameter of the pipe 1-1/2 in. Is that correct? At least it is a solid. elbow_is_a_solid_1.skp

Hi Jérémy, Is there any imported cad entity in your model? This often happens when there are impoprts in the model and they (or their origins) are very far from the world origin.

Complete your profile, please. Next, find an example image of what it is you are trying to do and post that. If what you are trying to emulate was shown on a PC, you can't do the same thing with the toolbars on Mac. They don't work the same way.

Hi, Gosu by Renderiza : http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=51919 This plugin includes some features for replacing complex components with simple ones temporarily. Set:: Proxy(Box) Set:: Proxy(cline) Cleanup by thomthom : http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=22920 Optimize your SketchUp model by getting rid of unnecessary elements. Another Sketchup Plus by dukejazz : http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=42951 This might help you send only the component that you are working at the moment to another SketchUp and when you finish place it back where it was. Hope this helps, Renderiza

Curviloft does not work immediately. I've tried it extensively. Only when I split faces in 3 sections could I be able to create the right meshes. The problem is curves are bottlenecking and need to follow not one but two unparallel rails. What I got with this is that the rails now have a fixed thickness, wich should be good for construction purposes. That's a tough one and made me wish for that bridge tool you got on Maya. See attached file. Best regards, JQL carparkramp.skp

Hi Jake, I assume this is for a standalone application and not an exporter plugin into SketchUp. slapi.framework uses @rpath in its in "Installation Directory" path. So you'll need to set the "Runpath Search Paths" project setting in Xcode to the path of slapi.framework relative to your executable file location. So typically it would be something like: @loader_path/../Frameworks Assuming your app is a bundle and you placed slapi.framework under "Frameworks" directory in your bundle. I hope that helps.

Glad that worked. It might have only required unticking one of those boxes so you could play with that and see what results you get.

Or better than scaling up and down is make a component of the thing before scaling. Make a copy of the component, scale it up, run Round Over or whatever, close the giant version of the component and delete it. The original will have the same work done to it and still be in exactly the same place you left it.

If it is the plugin that Massimo points to, you really ought to watch the tutorial. You'll see it is accessed through the Plugins menu. No toolbar included, nor needed.

Thanks! Rescaling helped. I didn't realize that working in small scale could be a problem - this solves also another problem I had (couldn't draw an arc because the scale, as in real life, was too small).

As Dave pointed out, correcting your orientation will make things a lot easier and will enable the Standard camera views to work correctly. Go to Camera/Standard Views and click Front and you will see straight away how your axes should be orientated. There is even a tool bar for these views so with the click of one button you can shoot round to the back, or top, side etc
