Recently I was thinking about simulating wings. It think it is possible to script (in SP3x) a "wing". It would be an object that would use its past and current position, rotation and speed to figure out angle of attack. Once you have that you could easily figure out lift and drag and use push() to make it act something like a real wing. Connect to a body with a thruster and you get a plane. Connect them with servos and you could make ailerons and rudder. In theory.

@sgt.a.johnson said: I still run vista but i thought it wasnt possible to run windows on mac hardware and vice versa. Does it work well? Since Apple moved to Intel software it was possible to run Windows on Macs. Running Macs on PC hardware is another deal though.

That worked. thanks! i just want to know the last part of my original post: @unknownuser said: Also, is there a way to delay a emitter? Like, I press the key and [so many frames] later it starts emitting. I'm using the same code: (0.0-key("e"))*-80 rate:1 I suppose there's no way to keep emitted objects going on a straight line at the same speed?

Its a very simple task. select the joint and then next to the play button for sketchyphysics there is a button that says UI on it. click it and depandant on whether you have sketchyphysics 2 or 3 their will be a text field called controller. if you have sketchyphysics 2 just type what you want the slider to say. if you set 2 or more joints to the same name one slider will control both joints. in sketchyphysics 3, due to the new coding features you will have to put: slider('[slidername]') For example if i wanted the slider to be called steer i would put: slider('steer') Once again if 2 or more joints have the same slider name they will both use only 1 slider.

Actually, I've been working on the driver's and the gun's POV, but didn't work as intended. I think I saw a code for what you mentioned, something like "look at example_box_1" rather than the traditional "camera follow box. camera track box" one. I think I'll try to contact CPhillips about this sometime soon. But until then, I'll just look around for that...

Probably. But I need more info on how the object is expected to move. Can you give a better description or maybe a image?

Maybe works only with the V7 ? Write to CPhillips the creator of SketchyPhysics and send him your file http://forums.sketchucation.com/ucp.php?i=pm&mode=compose&u=675 or go to the forum section SketchyPhysics

These scripts both seem to toggle back and forth for me....Have I done something wrong? Also, what would I add to the last script to allow a second key to control the opposite direction of rotation; ie a +/- key

The trouble with freezing them is that they are on a moving conveyor when they get cut (not an ideal situation i know), the hidden geometry will help however. I'm creating a model of a sawmill and its quite a challenge, good fun though. Thanks for the help guys

I can imagine some ways to do it, but they are too complex to follow manually. I can only suggest to try and retry until you get the right balance.

Suggestions: make the follow object as little as you can. download the latest version of SP(27 june) wich support individual object density and set the object's to 0. DO that if you want only to try- you can't upload models made with this version. create a line between the object's and the rocket's COGs. Then create another object identical to the 'follow' one (without the same name) and put it on the line. The COG of the new object must be at the same distance of the follow's, but at the other side in comparison to the rocket. Then link the new object to the same servo of the Follow. This should balance the model.

I have added numpad support on the newest version for joystick. The file is in the first post. I think you can use a joy stick with the file too. Can one of you guys that have a joystick confirm that for me?
