hmmz.. Based on your example, it seems that the laws of physics of buoyancy haven't been programmed quite flawless yet. I think I'll wait voor SP4.0. Maybe things have changed by then Thnx both of you for your time and help.

It's been a while since I did this bit from what I remember shaderlight doesn't render a sketchphysics animation, I found you would have to export each frame as a seep rate sketchup file, then render each file, but the draw back was you will need to change each file and start the render manually, this is very time consuming and I gave up then

AS can I know, SkechyPhisics dosenĀ“t work on SU2013 Pro. I have a license and I check it, but any time that I try to run the plugin Sketchup2013 crashes, one after another time. Well, to be more splicit, I am habing problems with several prugins and SU2013 that I havenĀ“t with SU8. I read that Trimble (or anyonelse) are cooking a new versiĆ³n. Was a very sad experience to feel how Trimble forget us, after a nice payment for a Pro license of 2013. This is the behabiour that we can expect from SU2013/Trimble? I hope to be wrong

@ashscott said: Simfonia has a small part of it that handles physics simulations called "Bullet" physics which I would say has about one tenth of the power for physical simulations that SP has. Simfonia has a lot of other things but SP is an entirely different beast - an awesome one at that. PS - I have a paid Simfonia license and love it Which is one of the reasons I was not enamored with SimFonia. That and the screen real estate the multiple dialog boxes took, aside from their amateurish layouts. But as you said, it has some other worthy attributes.

Absolutly no problem Draw all your rocks ( similar or not but each as a "group" or component) Place them above your Target(s) like inside a column or like a plane depending of what do you want! Targets must be trimmed in separated group if they are concave And press the button "Run"! [image: file.php?id=94890] They must rolling stones till they will unmoving! See my little tut (here the box is trimmed in some separated smaller boxes ) [image: file.php?id=94891] PS Careful SketchyPhysics don't love another plugins! So it's better to use it alone in a Plugins folder special for it!

No you misunderstood. I think it is due to my bad english To say it in short terms ... I want do the animation in blender and there after I want to safe it (export) as an collada or wavefront file. ThatĀ“s all.

Sorry for being unclear. In general you can't copy joints and you probably shouldn't even rename them. Many joints can however, share the same value for things like thrust. You can use a slider for instance, so they act in unison. a "$" in front of a variable name makes it global so it can be essentially called from all of your joints. I'll try and make a little video and post it to do a better job of explaining it. Hang in there, once you get past a few quirks sketchy physics combined with a little ruby scripting is loads of fun.

We can try. http://camstudio.org/ is one place you can get a screen sucker. If that doesn't work check back and we can see what we can do.

@ashscott said: Anton, you wrote Sketchyphysicstools.rb and controllercomands.rb yourself? No, just modified them. @ashscott said: Have you posted these in a separate thread so everyone can benefit from them? Well, those files don't do much; they don't fix SU2013 crash, and in fact there are much more improvements and bug fixes to be made, including those are not the only files that require optimizations. Fixing them would require re-uploading the whole SketchyPhysics. I'm also not sure if I have the right to mess into this project. I can work on a unofficial release, but I think CPhillips will update it soon. So, making more changes wouldn't be necessary.

Thank you for the explanation, Kev. It was really helpful. However, I would like to know why when you calculated the acceleration you multiplied all by 1/4.

Thx mptak! Yes, I have download some and reversed engineering. It really helped. I find a lot of this is trial and error. Love puzzles. : ) This really helped: https://sites.google.com/site/sketchyphysicstutorial/ The car tutorial, put things into perspective. Once you know how it's easy. I just figured out how to make a table turn that supports a controlled seesaw. Huge personal satisfaction!

your work with slight modificationsExceptional! What you want to do is to make a block (or small cylinder) and then the piston and the motor which you will each attach to it (alternatively the motor could be attached to the rotor). then group the three (the block and the two joints). Then attach the piston to the vehicle and the motor to the rotor. I have also found that when attaching multiple joints to the small block, it is useful to keep them on different layers. (SP puts them on a dedicated layer but you can change that). I'll try and work up a small tutorial using your model later today (nothing like SP on Father's Day) but try doing it on my cryptic instructions...you might get more out of it. Finally make sure to then set the grouped block to nocollision. Again...excellent work. ...Looking again at your model I might propose this. Group the motor with the rotor...(first attach and then group). Then make the whole main body of the vehicle a group. Next attach each motor/rotor to the overall vehicle group. You should now be able to pick up and throw the vehicle around with the rotor's attached and spinning. Depending on what level you are in school or sketchup....the next steps could either be simple...(attaching the vehicle group to a piston) or else using ruby sphysics push statements or a thruster value and gyron on the main body to fly around.
