Gears modeling in Google SketchUp and SketchyPhisics
-
I'm trying to make differential in Google SketchUp using this tutorial http://support.ponoko.com/entries/21249896-Gears-and-Joints-with-SketchUp-Sketchy-Physics for gears modeling. But I have problem: gears don't collide with any objects (and other gears). What's wrong? How to fix this?
How to make a bevel gear placed at 90 degrees relative to each other and conical cylindrical gears joints?
P.S. Is there something like SketchUp and SketchyPhisics in Linux?

I've made a differential before, see here, though I don't quite remember how

I make some clocks that are just packed with gears. The trick is to make one tooth a component and the use the SP context menu to define it as "convexhull". Next use the rotate tool in SU to copy the tooth as many times as necessary for your gear.

You might also want to use this plug: SP Gears. It draws SP gears for you!
