Thanks for your suggestions. I'm not getting bug splats. I think that I have found one of the reasons why I get undesirable results. Don't select the object before using Joint PushPull.

put the instances of your houses in a row without rotation. and the rotated instances on the site will receive all changes from the straight versions. Also, assign important shortcuts to tools\axes and reset axes

I hadn't looked at this before, myself. I guess my sketching in LO is just that. Not used for precise work. I kept experimenting to see if there was some trick. As Dave says in the last comment, as way to change the handle of the widget--if indeed we have to continue to use the widget in the future... I imagined using a modifier key that would "free" the rotation arm to be realigned. Other notes. I don't highlighting mentioned in this thread. It is so light on my computer I often can't tell if it's really there. I guess you have to measure the angle then do the move by entering it. This is not that easy, given the odd ways LayOut does things, but I guess you can learn to avoid the pitfalls.

Option to ensure you get it correct is to draw a line over the SU model and rotate it with "snap to object" on! I do this as a matter of course as it quicker than trying to find the right inference.

No, you would not. Dynamic attributes are a feature of sketchup only. Sorry :S

2D exports only the ProfileEdges and SectionCutEdges. I was hoping that there was a way to export the original layers.

@krism said: Fonts seem to occupy their own universe. If you look at five different fonts, all at 20 pts, they will all be different heights. You will have to decide which font you want to use, determine what its actual height is relative to your required point size and adjust the point size accordingly. Cheap or freely sourced fonts do have this tendency! Fonts from reputable foundry tend to follow proper protocols!

This behavior occurs for exactly the same root reason as the infamous small geometry problem: to allow for floating-point arithmetic, SketchUp puts a tolerance around how closely things match before they are considered "same". In the small geometry case, it causes vertices that SketchUp deems to be "the same" to merge. In the color by axis case, it causes SketchUp to color an edge if it is "close enough". And in both cases, it is not hard to construct a model in which close enough wasn't adequate.

Seasdes, just in case someone dares challenge me to a lazy duel...zzzzz, i'm ready! 2 things come to mind, a plugin could be written such that when activated, waits for you to click on a face or edge, finds all connected geometry and groups it. another is that you could have a key that works as start and end time ie. press the key > draw > press the key again. everything drawn between presses will be grouped. quite like the first option, many times i have to draw many sections and group them at the start of a project. this could save a few precious minutes and clicks, which could go towards my alarm clock.

@dave r said: That's an interesting method. I do something similar once in awhile. I draw the line, copy it with Ctrl-C and then edit the original to make it white. Then Ctrl-V to paste the copy over the white one. More often, when I need those lines, they are drawn in temporarily in SU. After I've traced over them in LO, I go back to SU, delete the lines and save the file. The viewport gets updated when I go back to LO. I'll have to remember this one. Thanks

Maybe I was not clear in explaining my problem. The reason they are unreadable is because they are too small and hence hard to read. Thanks
