I noticed that JPP treats group copies as components. Is there a way to overcome this without having to enter each copy. I am running the latest version of JPP. and SU V21

Just what I wanted.

I am looking for a plugin that will drape construction points at regular customisable intervals over all of my model bits and pieces. Where there are no model bits and pieces the construction points will be placed at Z:0 level.

The intended use will be to create a terrain etc. Similar to cloth I suppose but without the folds.

I have done a search in the usual places.

Does anyone know if such a plugin exists?

I think that I have found one of the reasons why I get undesirable results. Don't select the object before using Joint PushPull.

One way that seems to work for me today was to program one of my mouse buttons to 'Double Click' function. Not elegant ... but its something.

I was NOT disparaging anyones work. I have used many of Fredo's fine plugins. As I mentioned clearly before,the problem is difficult to describe. Obviously I don't understand the intricacies of this plugin.

My post was not about Fredo's plugin. I mentioned it to say that I had already tried it.

Just a suggestion _ calm down and dont get your knickers in a knot. Only comment if you are helpful (as Dave was).

I cannot be precise because the problems with the behaviour vary so much. The plugin may work for a while then without any reason the results are unexpected, even when using the same tool.

I have been using the plugin on and off for many years and now trying to find alternative options.

Anyway, now back to my original question.

Thank you forboth of your replies. I will try them both.

I am working on a project that has 5 houses on a site. The orientation of most of the houses are different from each other due to the site constraints. Also the orientations of the houses is close to the X & Y axis in SU making snapping difficult unless I am extremely careful. This slows down the modelling significantly.

While working on this project in CAD I can temporarily change the UCS and get the plan view to orient to suit the X & Y axis of the screen. What do other users out there do in a similar situation? Realigning all of the houses is not possible due to site constraints.
I could model each house separately and reference them into the site plan. However, modelling in the same file as the site plan is easier to determine levels etc.

Not what I am after I may want to edit a few groups / components of a great many.

I have Sketchup Pro 2019.

Any one know of a plugin that will allow me to select some objects (groups components etc) and make the rest of the scene/model temporarily invisible while I work on the visible items.

Similar to the isolate command in other software.

I have done a search but have not found anything compatible with SU 2019

I save the file using the reverse date as a prefix to the file name. Eg, 181024 House1.skp, 181025 House1.skp. Easy Peesy.

I tried searching for a solution. However, I cannot see for looking.

I am trying to export a 2D section to DWG format. The export works ok except that I get polyface meshes in the DWG file.

What is the best way to export lines only?
