Nope, not here.
My mouse has a setting for clicks or smooth scrolling, but the SU zoom still "steps" regardless of scroll wheel setting
Ditto............
In my experience the "Cancel" will be blue and you can push return to cancel. I want to push return to replace. (Used to be this way). Most common use for me is print to pdf and want to replace a drawing in the same directory that has a previous version. Want it to go faster-- I often have a couple dialogs that come up. Push return on this one, mouse to a button on that one. Eh Hundreds of time a week it seems. Just want to key it and done.

No, from a previous version of the SKP.
No Kris, I was referring to the SKP file embedded in the LO file. Peter understood that right.
Totally, agree, mate. I tend to set depth cue to no more that 3 and when taken into LO change to Hybrid and wind back the Line Weight to about 0.2 [Minimum it will go to is 0.1]. Oh, and a little bit of Fog if I fell the need but the Fog sliders can be tedious to manipulate.
You could also go on to Layout and have more control over .dwg export, and less control... but you could use the layers there. Kenny's method is better...
a reviewer:"It's fun, it's headline-grabbing, but it's also impractical, not coming to the UK and well, just isn't a product anyone is likely to genuinely need," he said.
If you are printing to a good PDF writer (adobe acrobat eg), you can create alternative settings to the default in which to can nominate the downsampling of colour or greyscale images. This way substitution of in model textures isn't an issue!
Awesome.
I found this thread looking for an answer to the same problem <Couldn't save styles out for re-use>
List view was the problem, Icon view "fixed" it.
I haven't experimented with saving and re-opening.
Mac OS Mavericks.
Sketchup 2015 pro
Oh my. Glad I looked at this. It appears use of the contextual "Put on Layer" is moving all nested components and RAW geometry to that layer! Really? I never...
So this contextual place on layer is a plugin by Dik Harrison. I don't recall ever having loaded this plugin. But I have always had it... (I freshly uploaded plugins for 2015, one by one)
The SCF manager gives the plugin a date in 2013 (too old) but the info is all older than that. I'll just stay away from this.
I don't know if there was a joke related to that or not. I suppose it could be confusing to some that components have definition names and instance names.

And they probably had a lot of half size sets printed because no one likes lugging the huge sheets around.
Yeah I had a builder on the phone last week complaining that some drafty had given him plans at A1 size (big) as opposed to A3 (small) that he could then print in his own office and manage on site V's having to get them printed at a bureau and then need a table for handling on site!
The world has moved on from large plans, thats what associative dimensioning is all about!

I've once run into something similar - not being able to save files .styles
I use Sketchup For MAC and what I have found out was a sort of bug-ish:
I normally use the LIST VIEW for my style window. That was the problem. I dont know why, but SU won't save any style if the window is with LIST VIEW...
I just switched to LARGE ICON view and it worked.
How knows?... It might work for you as well.
I had this problem for ages. You nailed it! Thanks! It is working perfectly.
Thanks. I think I am confusing two different issues on this thread. I'll look into it and probably post another thread. My goal now is smaller pdf output from LO.

I found supersection plugin very useful for this. It makes scenes with the same scale...I think..
It zooms extents in every scene. The same scale comes from there.
I use to select something on the model, maybe the project I'm working on, and zoom selection on it. If it's about the proportion of my monitor it works. If not, you have to use the method Daredevil uses but it would be best with a vertical line and zoom selection.
I have a shortcut for zoom selection though it's in context menu (right click)
