Managed to retrieve it thanks, although I don't have a 'virtual store' as such, but I looked in AppData and searched the folders there. Still strange though, as to why it had been placed there. I have created other component folders since and they all appear. My understanding is that Windows uses virtualisation when the software creating the file is deemed to be not up to par?

For stills I use Gadwin Print Scrreen I do not know about the other apps mentioned above but it's important to have a delay function as it can be used with all the modifier keys for SU.

Nifty, thanks Jim. Do you mean the script could be adapted to link the numbers to the component? That would be beyond me at the moment.

I would highly recommend that you shift to doing all your text in LO including the dimensions. If you must have dimensions displayed in SU, put the on a layer you can turn off after you've put them in in LO or simply select all the dimensions SU and delete them when you are finished with them.

Hello to all this is my first post, Check out this USA product, 58 progrmable key device for several programes. I have been using the X-Keys for about 12 years now and don't know how to get a long with out it. I use it for corledraw,Sketchup,Photoshop, and my Flight Sim. Great product, check out there site. Nickchun: More comments: 1)The 400mm model stand alone skp file in your zip is a different size that the one in the kitcab file model; 2) If I open the 400 stand alone model it opens at the expected drawing axis origin, importing the 300 and 350m then into the same drawing will then come in as components even though they are not componets in the zip fileoffset some what and with out the move tool; 3) SU treats components differently for ones created within the specific skp file. Try scaling one with the tape tool and you will see that. I am coming to the conclusion what are you seeing is just an artifact of the work flow you have going. Especially since both Dave R and I am found no problem when opening from the kitcab file. Have you tried opening from the in model component browser and found same problem? 4) If all your cabinets are separate files suggest you create a collection or library and try again and see if the problem is still there.

Resolved. Not entirely sure how but the only change I made was to remove all old files/directories left behind after uninstalling SU Pro on the old machine.

Just a note to add. There is a bug. DC units show as imperial if 'Display unit format' is unchecked in model info>units even if the model template is metric.

Here's what we consider a rendering bug in LayOut: If you export a 2D png in SketchUp, your raster-rendered model in LayOut should match. If you export PDF in SketchUp, your vector or hybrid-rendered model in LayOut should match. But it sounds like you're describing an unsaved style in a a scene that isn't updated. Save the style first, then save the scene. b ps - whenever I say that, it reminds me of the TV show Heroes: "Save the Cheerleader, Save the World".

OK. Solved it. I was building the unit the wrong way. I now have referenced all the sub component sizes and positions to a set of custom values for the parent component. The custom values are the user options. It now works perfectly. Thanks for your input guys.

The Axes tool interrups an operation. So assigning the shortcut sequence to a key allows you to see where blue is pointing at. [Ecs] ends the interruption. I must admit, not as useful as toggling 'Color: by axis <> all the same'. I've always wondered why toggling endpoint's visibility on/off isn't available in the 'View' menu, nor in the shortcut list discussed here. Unlike profiles, depth cue and extentions. It's just missing! We always have to dig into Window > Styles > Edit > Edge settings to reach it. Or have it saved in a scene. Toggling by pressing one key would help. (mentioning this at the risk of now being "sentenced" to contribute to the 'Dooh' thread)

I think if you could make the exports somewhat larger than they'll get viewed at, you'll be fine. It can be disconcerting when you look at images close up. i used to run into that a lot in the photography business. People would look at enlargements as if they were small prints and complain they weren't sharp. When they looked at them under normal viewing conditions, everything was alright. I hope you can make something work.

You quoted my example of a step sheet... Please outline exactly what you want to do - what to find by a pattern-match and how to rename them etc... This thread have been around for a decade ! So what you want to do needs to be specified very precisely...
