@Rich-O-Brien said in Genius small house: Wonder how these manage high winds/storms etc? I think the sturdiness of shipping containers is where the benefits lie. They travel the oceans. This is a quote, one of many items online about this subject "Container homes are engineered to stand their ground against strong winds. The sturdy steel construction of shipping containers provides a robust framework that can resist powerful gusts" I know what you mean though. There is potential for wind to get under the structure. Would be a simple task to get a structural engineer to draw up some specs' These containers have A twistlock or twist lock, on each corner just attach suitable footing to these I am sure the structural integrity would be up to the task.

@Rich-O-Brien That may be so Rich, and I do not know the full attributes that Keyshot offers as I mentioned. However TM has offered specialised product studios and environments for the last 2 or 3 versions. People may not be aware of this. that's why I posted. I should have made my post clearer on that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qy3rm2BfK3U https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F24wMRUY95M https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ovd-nYIo2pc

@Mike-Amos said in PFAS chemical exposure (Heads up): @L-i-am Really good to hear folk are taking ownership and doing the right thing, go Australia indeed. We think these are new problems? https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/weird-news/deadly-make-up-regime-queen-24550328 Cheers Mike, in about 2005 there was a toy called bindeez. Basically they were little beeds where kids would form a coloured pattern of the beads and join them together by spraying them with water and letting it dry. Anyway the Australian toy company decided to get them made in China. In that year there was emergency warning on TV and radio. Seems like the Chinese manufacturer changed the formula to make the product cheaper, hence more profit. The replacement contained "1,4 butylene glycol" that simulates the drug gamma hydroxy butyrate (GHB) (Street name "Grievous bodily harm" a drug not unlike ecstasy if swallowed. children were hospitalised. Then around the same time a Chinese company put melamine in babies formular as that would allow them to water down the milk and the melamine reads as protein, making the mandatory lab test show the milk had the correct amount of protein as per specification. I remember seeing a grandmother buying some Santa clause shaped predominantly red confectionery (clearly made iin China ,at a supermarket I vividly remember cringing

@L-i-am said in "Sketchup go" question: Thanks, how do I mark a question solved/ answered? When you are creating a topic there's an option to 'Ask a question'. If you use that then you can pick the correct answer. Not sure if you have the ability the retro-actively edit your post to convert from a topic to a question? [image: 1712751755648-brave_cgir1prae6.png] If you do then try it and see you can mark my reply as correct.

@tuna1957 said in Just moved in (Render): @L-i-am Excellent job. Only critique is the brightness of the garage space seems to take away from the more somber overall look of the render…. Take it for what it’s worth….. Everybody sees and interprets renders differently. Still all in all a great job. Hi Tuna, with all respect to your comment the lighting was central to the intent of the image, ying and yang, light and shade

@majid Majid, you are a talented Architect, Artist and Author, and at the very least bilingual. It you tell me you play the violin or drive a race car I will find you and slap you Whilst in Holland I would see about getting yourself into a Cafe and perhaps partaking in some, not too strong, creative type ganja (providing you are with a trusted friend) and chill the "F" out

@L-i-am G'dayski, I obviously have my head stored somewhere dank etc. Yes I have considered Twinmotion and your earlier offer of assistance to get my grey cells involved. When I have sometime to move myself over and above current stuff (Neighbour 93 yo being hassled by doctors and care companies), I shall indeed beat your door down for knowledge.

@L-i-am said in new use for an old building: why you think it is a Science not an Art I think the end result is art. But the setup is science. Understanding material properties, lighting properties and even the render engine itself is science. Especially if the end goal is photo realism. You need to know about lenses, turbidity, rayleigh etc to fully get astounding results. When you get to the point where you are looking up how to get the N and K values from a IOR and convert that to RGB values its fair to say that's not artistic. The result of your attention to detail is artistic but also physically correct.
