Guys I have just deleted the link to HDRI"s I posted Sorry but they contain some sort of virus The site is called emotion HDRI"s when to use the HDRI it will do about 6 render cycles and then focus in on a texture and "No Emotion" will be displayed on that zoomed in on texture. Suggest you get rid of anything you downloaded ASAP (edited) That was a false alarm. I do not know what happened with my first render, but I have downloaded a few HDRI;s and rendered with no issues. It might be an installation issue... If you have set the SketchUp.exe file's properties to always 'run as administrator' [or you right-click it and 'run as administrator'] this can mask issues which resulted from an incorrect installation initially [see later]. The downside of setting SketchUp this way is that you then prevent Image drag'n'drop. Windows Explorer always runs at the base level of permissions. Elevating SketchUp's permissions above that then causes an issue. Windows does not allow an application to affect another application running at a higher level. So drag'n'drop no longer works ! Change the setting[s] and drag'n'drop should work once again... SketchUp needs to be installed properly. Select the SketchUp installer's exe file, and right-click > context-menu > 'Run as administrator' This will ensure it installs and then runs properly later on. Being the admin, or having admin powers, is not the same as running it 'properly'... If you already have SketchUp installed you probably don't need to reinstall it from scratch. Close SketchUp, then run the installer as administrator as outlined above. When prompted choose 'Repair'. When SketchUp restarts all should be correct. Any Plugins etc should be remembered as before... If you still have problems try uninstalling and immediately reinstalling - running as admin etc...

If you are still using Thea download their Licensed Materials from the Licensed Material Club. Or make you own the Material Lab in Thea.... [image: NivN_thea_2017-06-10_11-05-15.png] Use a Glossy material layer, add bump using procedural textures and tweak the scale. Also adds some anisotropy to get the proper reflections. [image: C4X5_thea-render.png] Obviously this is not the best example render but a quick way to show how to use procedural textures in Thea. They wont render in Presto though but you can use Adaptive AMC with the GPU.

Inside SketchUp free Raylectron works as normal (with limitations of course) As "Stand alone" only Raylectron files seems working...

Just type... Sketchup.send_action 10624 ...into the Ruby Console to gain access to the Camera Clipping values If you zoom and pan in the viewport you can see how SketchUp adjusts this value range on the fly.

Perhaps when drawing it you inadvertently enter the radius too early? The typical suggestion for drawing circles is to set the number of sides to something divisible by 4 so that there are vertices on the cardinal points. I use values divisible by 12 so I get the vertices on the cardinal points but the circle is also evenly divisible by 3.

It's true that both formats are saved in simple text format...what appears to be a list of vertex coordinates; but it's how those vertices are referenced that appears to be different. I think a translation from rof to obj would require at the very least some kind of batch Find and Replace script.

Um .. .that goes without saying. But constantly hitting cntrl+Z would tend to screw up everyone's day.

Your screenshot of the orginal tells me that the component axes is set at the bottom left corner, which is the default position. If you move the camera around and that corner stays attached to the origin then my guess is correct. As I demonstrated above you need to move the axes to the bottom ceter of your horse so that it spins on its midpoint.

When I say frustrated its just that everything goes so slow. I have always wondered what it is like to control a mars rover with control delay. I could not believe selecting a texture, and hitting the delete button does not work at all any more. I have to right click and "erase" and wait about 7 seconds for it to go. Moving a texture or even something small is almost impossible. So frustration was expected and experienced. Loading the model into the renderer (8.2 million faces)takes about 6 minutes so about 12 minutes from hitting the render button to getting the first frame render. Strangely though the renders only take about 5 minutes to cycle to a good standard. I followed as much of the advice I was kindly given from this forum, and the computer I use is of a high spec so I think this is about the limit of shetchup. So basically it is just a very big model. It did test my patients though.

I've seen a similar report. It emanates from the way it was installed initially. Try uninstalling, then freshly reinstalling v2015. This time do NOT double-click the icon for the installer's exe file - even if you have 'admin-powers' - instead you should select its icon > context-menu > 'Run as Admin...' That way it's installed proeprly. Another thing to do is after it's installed find the SketchUp.exe file in the Program Files, SketchUp folder and context-menu > Compatibility > 'Always run this program as an administrator' should always be ticked [you'll need 'admin-powers' to do that] PS: Please update your User Info to suit the version you end up using...
