Hi all, I need to get a 3D file other than SKP into SKP. It will probably originate from solid works. Can anyone suggest what file extension I should request. Is there anything else I should be aware of?

      Thank you

Depends on the model and it's construction.

I tend to go for .DAE if I can get it.

Download the free D'oh Book for SketchUp πŸ“–

Use Blender, Meshlab...as converter and input inside SU as obj format... πŸ˜„
(with Thomthom Quad faces tools or Tig Obj Importer if you have SU Make)

            Check the following extension.

It enables SketchUp to import solidworks parts and assemblies.

as converted polygon meshes only, no reasonable way back to SWX.

available formats for a data exchange here.

Also take a look at "MooTools" standalone software to convert between formats.
