It might be an installation issue...
If you have set the SketchUp.exe file's properties to always 'run as administrator' [or you right-click it and 'run as administrator'] this can mask issues which resulted from an incorrect installation initially [see later].
The downside of setting SketchUp this way is that you then prevent Image drag'n'drop.
Windows Explorer always runs at the base level of permissions.
Elevating SketchUp's permissions above that then causes an issue.
Windows does not allow an application to affect another application running at a higher level.
So drag'n'drop no longer works !
Change the setting[s] and drag'n'drop should work once again...
SketchUp needs to be installed properly.
Select the SketchUp installer's exe file, and right-click > context-menu > 'Run as administrator'
This will ensure it installs and then runs properly later on.
Being the admin, or having admin powers, is not the same as running it 'properly'...
If you already have SketchUp installed you probably don't need to reinstall it from scratch.
Close SketchUp, then run the installer as administrator as outlined above.
When prompted choose 'Repair'.
When SketchUp restarts all should be correct.
Any Plugins etc should be remembered as before...
If you still have problems try uninstalling and immediately reinstalling - running as admin etc...
