That was a good read. It reminded me of having to sing the Irish alphabet in school..... A á B bé C cé D dé E é F eif G eif H héis I í L eil M eim N eim O ó P pé R ear S eas T té U ú Which when sung to the tune of the alphabet song (which we did) it sounds completely disjointed and ends rather abruptly. Lenition does add to the confusion in pronunciation but coupled with our use of broad/slender consonants not to mention eclipsis [mp, nd, gc]. Anyway, do we say yes or no? Is ea

............and if you ask an engineer if a glass is half full or half empty he will simply say the glass is the wrong size, while the real answer is, Waiter, bring another before I finish this.

Bryan, thank you very much. Here's a quick render test I tried this morning. I think the materials could tolerate a bit of adjustment but I kind of like the look. [image: 5624192623_b932196689_z.jpg] And straight out of SketchUp. [image: 5623833581_549a4a9849_z.jpg]

If you have the SketchUcation PluginsStore toolset installed it's even easier than renaming the .ZIP as .RBZ ! ... The SketchUcation submenu item 'Archive Installer...' lets you install the contents of a chosen RBZ file OR a selected ZIP file... 'Add-ons' for SketchUp are ALL actually 'Plugins' - scripts written in Ruby. Some of them are written in such a way that they are ALSO 'Extensions' - this kind of Plugin allows you to control their activation using the clunky Preferences > Extensions options... In a moment of madness in v2015 Trimble renamed the 'Plugins' menu as 'Extensions'. The folder containing them is still named 'Plugins'. This broke all imported Shortcuts from earlier versions which were looking for Plugins/.. and offered users nothing more than confusion about naming... I can only surmise that it was during a fit of pique, since SketchUcation's toolset offered better management of activated Extensions etc, and similar management of ALL Plugins too... Their Extensions-Warehouse only hosts 'Plugins' which are written as 'Extensions' [which they also 'vet']. SketchUcation's PluginStore also hosts many of these in parallel, and also hosts many simpler 'Plugins' too...

Yeah, that kind of thing is totally do-able. Camera recorder already has a feature to turn each of its frames into a scene. It could be added fairly easily to camera recorder. But then it would not work with regular scenes I suppose. Adding it to regular scenes would also not be that hard. The user just has to specify ahead of time what FPS to use, then the plugin would get ther camera position for each frame, slightly adjust the camera position, and then make a scene there. I think the hardest part by far would be getting the camera shake to be believable. I'm afraid it is more than just randomized points. I think it is more of a randomized wave, and then determining where the camer should be on the wave at that point in time. Camera shake is not just randomly bounced from point to point per frame, it is bouncing up/down/around over multiple frames in the same direction, until you hit the upper/lower most point of the bounce, then find a new direction to bounce in. Which in my mind appears to be more like a wave. I'm sure Remus could crank that out if he ever came back. Anyone other math guys out there want to tackle this? Once we start talking waves I get nervous Chris

@solo said: I recently upgraded all my machines to Windows 7 from both XP and Vista. All but one were bare machines (basic setup for use as render farm) however my main rig was Vista. I had no compatibility issues with the upgrade, in fact some apps that had issues with Vista like my Scanner drivers (visioneer) now worked much better. It took some time getting used to the new UI, but all in all I am very happy with the change and would do it again without hesitation. Solo, Off subject, but could you tell me what kind of parts need to be assembled in each machine to begin a render farm for Vue? I'm definitely a beginner when it comes to Vue and any kind of render farm. So, for example would it be best to place money into the processors and not the graphics cards?
