Lots happened to the wiki It was a great project that never quit got the support it needed to survive. I invest a lot of up front time into making a base for it. Al Hart invest a LOT of time in adding content and cleaning up spam. Faruk Ahmet invested a lot of time working on conent formatting. And others invested time adding content, etc. But in the end, the spammers won, and my cheap WebHost couldn't handle the load. Wikis are very server intensive with all the php and sql database processing. And it just was painful to try and edit pages, often getting web time outs, erasing the attepmted edits. So it was a good effort, but just never quite took off like I had hoped, though it was incredibly succesfful if you count how many visitors it had. Now the information has been put onto the Sages site like you said. Joy (Catamountain) and Al Hart did virtually all the content moving over to the sages site. Hopefully it will stay there and continue to be accessible. Chris

Jeff: The right hand illustration would most likely be how they would lay it out in the real world with heavy bar reinforcement. The left hand illustration would be closer to what it would look like if welded wire mesh were used. Either way could work, depending on the gauge of the wire mesh and the thickness of the shell, which I assume would be some form of concrete. But-- let's see what brob1969 has to allow.

Admittedly, an SVN-based repository is not without its own challenges; there is a learning curve for the administrators as well as the plugin authors, not to mention the end-users. As much as it a success with WordPress, it's not exclusively used by all plugin developers, either. Thanks for the links and comments, everyone.

Hi Semih, Use the Stamp tool from the Sandbox toolset for this job. See some references here: http://sketchup.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=95061 http://sketchup.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=115432

Thanks Gai - that is it. However I can't seem to find the link to the download [Later] AHA - I found the download up at the top of the page: Web Exporter And the other tricky thing is that the plugin itself is called swivelButtonPlugin.rb

Andriy, I started with a blank new model, so there is no extra geometry. What I discovered while looking at it again was that the possible bug is related to the "use model extents" checkbox - it doesn't seem to be able to process objects smaller than about 300 mm or one foot. Unchecking that works, but the problem is that the white space visible around the model will print. This has never been a problem for me, because as an architect I mostly deal with large objects, but I became aware of this when seeing the number of posts in SU-related forums asking the same "why does SU need xx pages to print my small part to 1:1 scale?" question that seems to bother especially woodworkers who need to print their templates from SU. Hi Queenhunter, There is no (native) object animation in SketchUp - normally you can only "animate" the camera and thus create walkthrough or flythrough animations. There are a couple of plugins however, like Sketchy Physics (we have a whole subforum for this), Proper Animation or Mover with which you can also animate objects.

Jim, Thank you very much for the offer to write some Ruby code for this. However, there's no real need to put yourself to the trouble. I can work around the problem OK for now. ............................................ As suggested earlier though, a way of having something built into the core program in the future would be good. A possible enhancement for SU V8 ??? ............................................. In the days of DOS we used ...... to go up levels in directory trees. A similar feature for DCs in the future would be really good eg Parent!Parent!Parent!Attribute1 - ie a way to navigate up levels in RELATIVE terms .............................................. Hi, there is no best advice unfortunately. The best way i found for me is to project or to drape a line of the proposed road on the terrain. Then i select the line piece by piece and weld it. Then i use the FollowMeAndKeep tool to generate the profil of the road along the line. Then i remove all the overlapping faces of the terrain and use the sandbox tool "From Contours" to modify the terrain step by step. The result almost looks like a real street, but not quite.
