Hi Vicky and welcome "back"! Sorry for the "moderation queue/line" - I have now made you a member of the SU Team (with some extra powers!) and you posts should not be held back any more.

At Sumstard there is "CloseOpens" and "StrayLines" to fix these problematic parts. Apparently stray lines are less problematic - they can be deleted by any cleanup plugin but those open gaps are.

@hectormc said: Hi i just bought profile builder but have not yet learned to do diddly squat with it. how do you use these profiles to make lines? @ccaponigro said: So here are the .skp files. This only works with Profile Builder 2 Assembly tool. I made dashed, hidden, center, phantom and even batt insulation. They only use a couple components and just repeat them so I'm guess not much in terms of computer load. The center and phantom have to be a specific length or they will finish short or long of the definition line.(I'm going to work on this some more. I really spent very little time trying to tweak them. But for me being able to keep things coordinated right in sketchup is worth a little fuss. I was really surprised at how easy the batt insulation was. I also like dropping in center lines on my openings so I know exactly what I'm snapping to in layout. They are not profiles but assemblies. Use the assembly tool in the same manner you would any assembly. Draw with the path tool or select a path and apply the assembly. I should say I have switched to doing all my linework in Layout. The new make scale drawing has made it soooo much easier.

@tig said: If it's only a few instances, then there's a simple manual fix... Use a Style showing end-points - so you can see them! Use the Move tool with nothing preselected. Pick the end of the split line and move it to the end of its cousin. You can move a vertex if nothing else is selected - otherwise the Move tool assumes you want to move the selected objects ! You now have one line where there were two... Obviously if there are lots of split lines a script is more efficient... Thank you, TIG.

@messire said: Hi all, i need to rescale it down 0,9939 to 1 but it seems the scale tool only accepts increments of 0,01 thnx Nils That .01% snap-to is a real pain, but you can define it more accurately. Just scale it to about the size you want, and type to the VCB the actual ratio you want and [enter]. Often when I need to scale down/up just a tad, it will snap to the nearest .01%. If I move the cursor, it snaps up or down to the next .01%, say between .98 and .97, and I want something in between. So I estimate where in between and say it is .0976 Just simply type .976 [enter] and it will scale to that. If it is off a bit, undo and just rescale from there at say .9765 or .977 I have found trying to enter an exact dimension is a hit or mostly a miss situation. I just put in a guide line where I want the edge to be, and then snap the scale to that. It can get tricky though.

@jan steinman said: @honoluludesktop said: Draw a edge creating two triangles out of the quadrangle, if triangler faces are then created, the 4 edges are not coplanar. If not, perhaps the edges are not joined together. Yea, I tried that, and it seems the quad is not coplanar. Sigh. I used the line tool to make four vertical lines and entered precise lengths, then connected the ends. Any thoughts on why the result should not be coplanar? Perhaps I just slipped. Oh well, tear it apart and try again, I guess... Unless you post the problematic xxx.skp file you have everyone guessing. If you want to learn post it!

I dont know if it is the same thing, but I made some dynamic windows. I needed 3 different versions e.g casement sliding and awning. the windows did not need animation just sizing and costs attached. I made the first DC and basically copied and changed attributes to suit. This works fine when I need all sliding on the job but when I need a combination of several I find that the code reverts back to the original DC file i copied originally. I ended up redoing all 3 versions of windows from scratch, as no matter what I did I could never gethem to work (in the same model anyway)

@imabzeous said: i mean to print on architectural scale like 1/4 1/2 etc, in ps i dont kno whow to do it helppp I assume ps means photoshop. Here's a method: frame your model in SU with a line only rectangle of some known size (in feet) -- bigger than the model extents. Render with the frame turned on (you can render exact same view with it off if it's on a layer) In PS, measure how many pixels accross on the rectangle -- you will know how many pixels equals the distance In PS crop to the rectangle lines In PS use print with preview (after figuring out how many pixels wide to match the scale you want -- simple math)

I just noticed that in another model I have, where I had imported geometry from a DWG, multiple definitions had the same name.
