I see what you're doing. I guess I wouldn't use guide lines (c-lines) for that in the first place. Guides are intended as temporary lines and not as geometry. Presumably you have made a component or group of the drawer front and bottom and so on. A simple left to right Selection box dragged around the c-lines for the drawer side will select them without problem. and then a keyboard shortcut can be used to make the group or better, a component.

If in your example you did not want the 2 perpendicular faces to give you the weird shading, but you don't want to see the line, then keep it "soft" and NOT "smooth". Select the line, and use "entity info" to make the adjustment. Don't use "hidden", which effectively is both soft and smooth, but also has other attributes you may not want.

@dave r said: John, what makes you think it'll soon be a lost art? I don't think this generation appreciates it enough, that's all. You are an artist and I can see the love you put into it. Much like my family, it wasn't always about money. Interesting side note. When my grandfather came from italy, he worked for a wealthy man carving and installing molding for his mansion in NJ. It's now the Police Headquaters for the Palisades Intersate Parkway. Amazing to see the work that was done back then.

I operate with SU on my primary monitor and keep the windows I use most on my secondary monitor. Ever since SU 7 the arrangement has stayed that way; however the last two weeks both the SU drawing window and the menu windows appear on my primary monitor - I can of course move them to my second monitor, but when the session ends and I reopen SU it goes back to the primary monitor. How do I lock them? I've tried the above solutions but no joy.

Keep in mind a special condition of (non dynamic)components is that what ever you do INSIDE the bounding box (color, scaling, rotations), applies to ALL same components in the model. All changes to the external bounding box, (colour, scaling, rotations) apply only to that copy of the component. If you need to make a change to the details of only that one component (that would be inside the box, make it "unique" first. So if you are using different lengths of the same extrusion, scale the component from outside the box for each copy. If you want to change the wall thickness of all copies, then edit the component (inside the box). If you want to change the wall thickness for only one copy, make it unique, then edit it.

oh yes this is really important. i think google map is only an orientation. you could switch in the time line back and look is your house exactly on the same location or not. i dont know, could be for sketchup exist a plugin for inserting exact cordinates from GPS. when you will realy work exact, i think you need a very exact GPS and compass. here a link to an exact GPS (1 inch) http://www.popsci.com/technology/article/2013-08/global-positioning-down-inches

@krisidious said: .rbz files are extensions which must be installed from within sketchup at the preferences>extensions> menu. Go to this menu and click install extension... browse to the file and select. also you might consider getting the new "SCF Plugin Store" It's a plugin offered here at the site that searches, installs and removes plugins and extensions right from inside sketchup. Thank you so much. Your answer was "Grade A" and "Most Excellent".

I did the same thing... When I was an admin/moderator whatever I was getting into political arguments in the bar and thought it unbecoming for someone of authority to be waving around flags or personal opinions. Strangely though, I pretty much stopped doing it after I resigned my post. Perhaps, like me, he'll stick around even without the title. Hope so.

Chris and TIG, many thanks for the replies! As per your advice, I tried up-scaling the model to 1000 times it's actual size, and the empty triangles stopped appearing. The only leak solid inspector shows now is the open side of the head, which will go away once I mirror the other half of the head and merge them. Thanks again!

Nope you were right when you said I was overthinking, the scripts merged, and I am able to use both. However thanks for the input. Learn something everytime I write here.

Perhaps you should start with a much simpler example while you learn to use Follow Me. In short, for what you've see from both Cotty and TIG, the center of the circle is on the center line of the profile and perpendicular to the profile's center line. The radius is really unimportant. Just get it centered.

I think root has more access than admin but I'm not sure. In the meantime the problem is solved, though the mystery remains. I used Super Duper to copy a cloned backup of my old computer over to the new one and all seems normal. Thanks for all the suggestions and help.

The files are quite big. I got them from https://www.wuala.com/Olson/Photos/Optikz_360_Skies/. I discovered them while searching for HDRI images to enhance my skies in Kerkythea. A nice guy made a post on the Blender Artists site as a gift http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?224065-New-High-resolution-sky-pack-for-Blender. I got 9 out of this list including: brightday cambridge english godrays goodmorning Nevada clearday_1 clearday_2 Sunset The last 3 are png files. I opened them in Photoshop and saved as jpegs just to keep the import list simple. But I don't think there is a problem with any of the image files at all because all of them imported successfully, just not all at the same time. The problem does not seem to be with any particular image, just which ones get imported last. But once an image gets flagged as invalid, I cannot import it anymore no matter how many images I purge from the model. I'm thinking of splitting the library up into 4 skies each since the size seems to be a problem for some reason I think.
