Soap Skin Bubbles "leaks" too much
-
I've been having a very frustrating time trying to get a robot head I've been rendering to be "water tight." Solid inspector circled out a ton of open areas, and it's all from the edges of the curved skins I made using soap skin bubbles. I noticed that the soap skin's surface is uneven in places near the sides.
I literally spent a whole day patching leaks, and each time I used a soap skin to patch a leak, the skin itself created more leaks. Pretty much at my wits' end right now. I did not tamper with soap skin bubble's settings at all.
Any advice is much appreciated.

Could you upload the file you are trying to patch?

If your modeling is resulting in some very tiny facets then SketchUp might fail to make them.
If so scale up your model x10 or even x100 [or more!]...
Do the modeling and scale back down to the desired size.
Tiny geometry can exist but SketchUp/OpenGL has problems creating very small geometry initially... -
Chris and TIG, many thanks for the replies!
As per your advice, I tried up-scaling the model to 1000 times it's actual size, and the empty triangles stopped appearing.
The only leak solid inspector shows now is the open side of the head, which will go away once I mirror the other half of the head and merge them.
Thanks again!
