    Seems to be a known problem when applying custom mapping / using SketchUV. Dale (Whaat) even posted a workflow for it but I can't seem to get it to work: http://artisan4sketchup.com/manual/sketchuv/lessons/Auxillary_Tools_-_Path_Select_and_Triangulate.html create object apply material with texture export UV's (obj) using SketchUV to third party program (Blender for instance) apply UV's in third party program, export as obj import UV's using SketchUV apply 'triangulate' in SketchUV export as fbx this workflow still generates multiple materials and textures. I must be missing something. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

    I may be misunderstanding what you want to do. Have you created a "path" and you want to place your breakwater wall sections along the path? If so you could look at Component Stringer by Chris Fullmer http://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=clf_component_stringer Comp String Sam D Mitch http://sdmitch.blogspot.com Path Copy http://www.smustard.com/script/PathCopy You'll find them useful even if it's not what you are wanting to do. If you are wanting a jumble of your shapes you could look at sketchy physics, but I suspect it would be a lot of setup just to drop them all in place.

    @pbacot said: I must have missed the point. I didn't realize OP was looking to dimension the existing sides @dbwill said: The model has rounded corners and it makes it a little difficult to get accurate measurements for a side panel. Seems more important to learn how to get dimensions from a model as is rather than redrawing it square to get the measurements. By turning on hidden geometry you get edges that you can snap the dimension tool to more easily.

    Cotty, Thank you!! You are a gentleman and a scholar! I was able to reproduce your excellent results. This has, with your help, suddenly become a great day. Cheers, Jeff

    Are you sure that the black is painted on a face and not a group?

    What textures/materials do you have in the model? Maybe there is a color lookup change happening between the PDF and jpg that is making some material look more yellow? To answer your second question, no, jpg does not always look good to me. In particular, unless I have profiles set to 1 they come out very heavy in the jpg. Like Dave, unless I know the recipient can only handle jpg, I prefer png, uncompressed tiff, or PDF.

    Regarding the message on the SketchUp forum: "Sorry, there was an error authorizing your account. Perhaps you did not approve authorization?", there was a problem on their end but it now seems to be sorted.

    I never understood why these "advanced" cameras have these stupid huge frustums and contruction lines. And there is no way to disable them so that the camera is created without them (or at least i don't know how to do it). If you delete them, they are coming back. Who "invented" this sh*t?!? It must have been someone who never worked in Sketchup. I mean... how long do we have to deal now with these OGL clipping problems? Yes, since the beginning - more than 10 years! And the ACT was added in 2007-2008? And another annoying point of the ACT... i don't know how many times i have lost a view because i accidently clicked in the unlocked viewport. WHY can't this camera just work like the standard camera and get only updated when you click "update"?!? I only need the ACT to control the tilt of the camera - if there would be a simple plugin where you can set this value or simply set it to 0° i would never use them again...

    @mzarja said: Hello! I need an advice. I'm creating a house visualisation in SketchUp Pro. I have various components (furniture) and I need to set one colour to all of them. Is there any way of doing that without changing colour to each and every component manually, like not colouring all component faces separately? Thanks in advance! This one-liner will color ALL component instances RED. Sketchup.active_model.definitions.each{|cd| next if (cd.group?||cd.image?);cd.instances.each{|e| e.material='red'}}
