Helllo, Thanks for your help. When I turned on the Pc in the afternoon today and opened Sketchup, the phenomenon had disappeared. As a precaution I have installed the latest drivers . Charly

Like this: [image: hHvf_Context_Menu_Shortcut.png] open the group/component and select a face only go to 'Preferences/Shortcuts' and filter on 'select'. grab this bar and drag right to view the full menu item name (you can't modify the Preferences window size itself) select the 'Bounding Edges' item from the list enter your shortcut The main thing to remember is that to add a shortcut for a context menu item, you must be in the specific context that loads it into the context menu flyout (you can check that by right clicking and seeing if your desired item shows up in the flyout: if not, you're not yet in the proper context). Otherwise it won't show up as an option in the 'Shortcuts' list. It's not obvious that it works this way, but once you understand how it works it does make sense. Hope this helps. Doug

If you make your window component with gluing/cutting behaviors, and its blue axis matches the wall face's normal [automatic if component is made on a face initially], then it'll 'cut' a hole in the face onto which you initially place an instance of it [at least if it's in the same 'context'] My "HolePunchTool" lets you punch a real hole in a multi-skinned wall, and then that 'hole' selects/moves with the associated cutting component. http://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=HolePunchTool

Funny it seems to have stopped doing it now but the pop up was concerning customising the tool bar as though you right click the mouse. But as i said it seems to have stopped for the moment, I had to select by gently clicking on the extreme left of the mouse. But hey ho lets hope its back to normal again for good. Many thanks for all your replies Grumpygrum

Just a thought, but do you have any abnormally large textures that could be causing issues? Otherwise, I'd say delete things until the weirdness stops (in a backup obviously), add things back in until it starts, and try to diagnose it that way. As for why it's fine in a new model, I'd say perhaps the issue is within a group/component and doesn't kick off until it's accessed?

@emerald15 said: Add the selected background image as a watermark (in the style settings). I do this a lot for still visuals (not sure how it would behave in animation). Thanks - that worked fine...... I should have thought of that but I have never used the watermark capability before.

Sorry this has taken so long to report back. In short the answer was that I could only render reliably at 9999 x 9999 pix. I couldn't get to grips with splitting the image using camera tools. I ended up enlarging the renders in perfect resize and got pretty good results from this.
