Sounds like a classic case of 'you get what you pay for.' A firm in india with no client contact is never going to be able to produce a brilliant site for the client, as they simply dont know exactly what the client wants. But then if all you want is a clean generic site its probably quite a good option.

@gaieus said: Yes, it works (downloada on my office comp). A bit like the Twighlight Zone however i like to listen to futurepop/darkelectro music so off course its a very dark looking theme as is the music i listen to but i also listen to jazz, country, rap, rock, etc etc any kind of music as long as its good. but futurepop/darkelectro is my favorite thus designing my theme around it

If you can use a 64bit OS. If current software solutions at your office doesn't allow it, ensure that the hardware is 64bit capable in case you can upgrade later. Working with 3D rendering will quickly eat up your memory, if can go 64 bit then do it. (I'm now talking generally, not for just SketchUp.) The next Photoshop that's to be released soon will finally have 64bit support

Hi Hannsen, I'm so sorry that I didn't respond to you earlier. I started a response, but I must have forgotten to hit "Submit". There is one more thing I can think of to try. In addition to deleting the com.google.sketchuppro.plist, could you also delete the com.AtLast.sketchup.plist (assuming you have one). Does that help? If not, contact the technical support folks at Google using http://sketchup.google.com/gsu6/support.html. Are you, by any chance, using a localized version of the product? I guess that could be another potential source of the problem. Best, Tricia

I'd be interested to see your model. Or at least some good pics of it. We might have even more modeling tips if we saw how the progress is coming. It sounds super interesting! Chris

I don't think you would find any argument amongst forum members here that the vast majority of models in the Warehouse leave a lot to be desired. A 9 MB car might be fine for a teenager to mess around with...when it's the only model in the scene...but try importing one or two to liven-up an architectural rendering and you have real problems.

Well I guess the problems depend on what you are modelling. But most people find that drawing directly onto layers other than Layer0 (as opposed to drawing on Layer0, grouping then moving to another layer) almost invariably leads to a complete bird's nest of a model...faces on different layers to their edges...groups and components on different layers to their contents. The mantra for almost every serious user, right from the earliest days has been "Always draw on Layer0"

@remus said: Whaat has also produced a UV mapping ruby, that allows you to spherical and cylindrical maps. You can find it in the ruby forum. Its pretty good at what it does, but its still pretty limited. I wonder UV coordinates if it would export to maxwell. But then again I do have some UV spherical and cylindrical mapping in Maxwell studio. I was hoping there was "something" more helpful

@galbavy1 said: if you want it around a perimeter of a face Unfortunately there are many times when it is not a simple face I want to use the follow me tool on. But when that is the case, this tip does help. Glad it helped, and muito obrigado for the Mac help Edson. I can never remember how the keys correspond. Chris

Thank you. I did take a look at the Fine Woodworking site. I agree, Dave has been a big help. I've taken a look at some of his other posts and found help there also. I getting free advice from some prestigious people here. So far, my first association with a forum has been positive.
