I am an occasional Sketchup user and still struggle to do basic operations. I'm attempting to recreate the 3-D nature of petals as part of an art exhibit creating a giant flower. I've managed to generate an outline of the petal which I have extruded, but am uncertain how to proceed to generate a 3-D topography of it.
The initial scan is attached in the first image.
The side-view of a bent petal is shown in the second image.
What steps would I take to mould the petal to fit a particular shape?
      Thanks so much,
      David

        Nice start, David.
If I were you I would divide the petal more. Maybe by intersecting some vertical and horizontal planes with it. Then I would rotate it 90 degrees so that becomes horizontal and using smoove tool would try to adjust it so that fits the side images.
